Hi I'm Jessica.

I've lived in all sorts of places and seen lot of things. Now I'm in Edinburgh and still love being a Mormon.

About Me

I am from the Davidson clan through my Mother. I know how to do a good ceilidh dance! I am a qualified nursery nurse and am on maternity leave with my third child. I usually work with children with profound special needs which I find so rewarding. I'm a busy lady and love to be at home caring for my three children and my husband. The highlight of the week is church!! I joined the church when i was 19years old quite miraculously. 14years on.. i haven't looked back.

Why I am a Mormon

'Do you know about Mormons or Joseph Smith? I'm a Mormon!' These were the first words that led me to a wonderful path in finding the most important person in my life... Jesus Christ and to being converted. These questions led to the first prayer of years. I was scared! But I felt love and i asked if God could show me the right way to Him.. I can't quite remember where i was supposed to be going but i went 20miles in the opposite direction to visit the person who asked me if i knew about Mormons. They didn't know i was coming but I knew they wouldn't mind. Meanwhile the sister missionaries felt prompted to go check on my friend at the SAME TIME!. When I met the missionaries immediate confirmation came from God and spoke to my heart. I thought 'Now i know this is the way God wants me to go'. Everything they taught, particularly about the Godhead that the Father, the son and the Holy Ghost are seperate individuals but are of the same purpose made perfect sense. That God wanted two witnesses of Christ, being in the Bible and the Book of Mormon (Ezekiel). Also that there is an amazing and totally life changing purpose to this life that is true. NOTHING could compare to the feelings of finally finding the truth. EVERYTHING changed from that point on. I am sealed for all eternity in the temple to my husband and now we have three children. Its the most wodnerful thing that could have happened to me. I'll never leave it. I owe the Lord that much!

How I live my faith

Its important that i let the light of Christ show wherever i go. I'm very open about my faith and people all the time around me want to know more. I love to help out my friends, neighbours and family at every opportunity by looking after children, making meals when people are sick and providing a listening ear. There is a job that most of the women of the church do called Visiting Teaching and I have several sisters assigned to me. My job is to make sure they are alright like the above, to meet any needs, comfort when in need of comfort and to teach them once a month. At church i love to help teach the children. I make objects that relate to the lesson and make it fun so they want to keep learning. Thats rewarding for me and the lessons, no matter how simple strengthen my faith. Everyday as a family we live our faith. We start with morning prayers and end the day we pray and give thanks. We bless our food as we are greatful for it. We read the scriptures and have great fun doing Family Home Evening every Monday. This is where we spend quality time together. No other thing is allowed to hinder it. The family is the most important thing in our lives. I also support my husband and make some sacrifices so he can be a church leader. We have found ourselves so blessed and supported because he has served in the church this way. I also help out a few Mums and Tots clubs and this is a great way to meet people and make new friends.
