Hi I'm Katie

I love to dance, read, run marathons, and play games with my family. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have been a dancer my whole life and I love using movement to express myself. I also enjoy running and the past few years I have trained with friends for different half marathons and marathons across Utah. Spending time with family is very important to me! We all live close together so we eat dinner together often, play games, and hike around our neighborhood or on the nearby mountains. I love spending time outside, enjoying grass in between my toes and soaking up sunshine. I am currently a university student at Brigham Young University and I spend time taking classes, exercising outside, reading good literature, and spending time with roommates and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel, the gospel of Jesus Christ, makes me happy! I love my family so much and this gospel teaches that we have the potential to live with our families forever after this life. It gives me perspective to know that there is so much more to right now, to this life because we will live again after death. When I follow the commandments of God I am happy and I am able to be at peace with myself because I know that I am trying to do what is right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in the services weekly on Sunday as well as service and learning activities throughout the week. Everyone in the church community is assigned someone to visit, and teach a spiritual message, and serve at least once a month. I love fulfilling this assignment because it ensures that everyone is fellowshipped and has a friend, no-one should be forgotten! The prophet has asked that the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints set aside Monday nights specifically to spend time with family and build those relationships. While away at college, I have an assigned group of roommates and neighbors to act as my family while I am away from home. On Mondays we meet for a short spiritual lesson, prayer, and then have an activity together.
