Hi I'm Charlene

I am an American, living in Britain. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of five children, who all live in the USA. I used to work at a Holiday Inn in Redding, California. I am now retired from work and live in Britain.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the Protestant faith. My step sister however was a Mormon. When I lived with her for a while, she invited me to her Church. The people there were very nice to me. It was a great atmosphere. After a while, she asked me if I wanted to meet with the Missionaries. They came and I questioned them where my mothers spirit went, after she died. They told me that her spirit was in heaven. I said I was ready to be baptised, as they had answered the question that had troubled me.

How I live my faith

I taught Primary children (3 yr olds) for 6 years. The lessons were about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also co ordinated records of visits done by ladies in the ward, and was a visiting teacher myself. This involves, visiting or calling other ladies in my ward to check up that they are ok. I sent birthday cards to ladies in my ward on their birthdays. I have also been a secretary to the primary organisation.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

I have been sealed in the Temple to my brother and parents. Because of this I know that when I die I will be reunited with them, for time and all eternity. I was married to my husband in the Temple, and now that he is dead, I know that we will be together again. This fills me with joy and happiness. Show more Show less
