Hi I'm Christie Mabry

I was born and raised in Colorado & attended Brigham Young University-Idaho for the last year and a half. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello all! I am the youngest child out of four. I have four nieces and two nephews. I LOVE being an aunt! I have been going to school at BYU-Idaho since January of 2012 and truly believe that it was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I made the decision to serve a mission on October 6, 2012 (my 19th birthday AND the very day that the age change for Elders and Sister missionaries was announced). I am headed to Leeds England and could not be more excited! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who are already members of the LDS church and went to church for the first 9 years of my life. For about three or four years, we stopped going to church for a little while. My mother started to have the desire to go back and she took us kids with her. I went each Sunday and sat by her side, but to be honest, more often than not I didn't want to. I didn't want to be a member, I didn't like the "rules" or going to church each Sunday. I didn't like that other people were telling me how to live my life. It wasn't until I let myself learn about the gospel and actually feel the joy that it brought to my life that I came to love it and see how much it affects me. As I have gotten older, I have become so close to the other youth in my church, my leaders, and my family. I have learned that these are the most important thing in my life-these and my relationship with God the Eternal Father and His son Jesus Christ. When I decided to come back to church, I realized that there were somethings that I needed to make up for in my life. Thankfully, Christ has paved the way for us to be forgiven of our sins and short comings. Now, the very most important thing in my life is the Gospel, my relationship with God, and my family. So much so that I have made the decision to serve a mission and share it with people in England. I hope to help them see the joy that they could have in their lives if they let Christ into it. I love this Gospel so much that words can simply not describe. I know that it is true. I know that Christ lives and that He loves us. I know that He suffered and died for our sins. My name is Christie. I'm a college student. I'm an aunt, a sister, a daughter, a friend. And I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I try to do my best at participating in the lives and activities of those around me. Its hard for me to contribute as much as I would like to because of being a full time student and working part time, but I work with the women in my area. As a church, we like to keep in contact with one another and truly get to know each other. On a monthly basis we try to visit each other and see how the other is doing. I have the responsibility of visiting two women in my ward as well as helping to coordinate who the other women go to visit.
