Hi I'm Megan Hodgman

I'm a Mormon (and I love it!)

About Me

I love my siblings, wearing baseball tees, the Mid-western fields of Iowa and the rocky mountains east of BYU campus, writing English papers and all things London, and the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am so excited to serve a mission in Paris, France!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe it is the true and living church, with Jesus Christ at its head. How do I know this? From reading the Book of Mormon and praying to my Heavenly Father. These actions of faith have lead to feelings of peace, comfort, and clarity--the Holy Ghost testifying that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that I am His child.

How I live my faith

Just as you'd guess, I live my faith by living according to what I believe. I believe the Book of Mormon is truly from God, so I read and pray about it and try to live the teachings found within it's pages. I believe that a prophet has been called by God to make His will known, so I listen to President Monson's and the apostles' words and live by their counsel. I know Joseph Smith did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ when he prayed long ago; I also pray to my Heavenly Father because of my belief that Joseph Smith was a prophet. Most importantly, I believe that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives. I know He lived a perfect life, suffered and died for all in order to save all, and rose again and gives us power and comfort daily. To live my faith in Christ, I want to live as Christ lived and tell His good news -- that we can be saved through Him!

What is the priesthood?

Megan Hodgman
The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name, given to worthy men. Leading meetings, performing ordinances, and healing and blessing faithful people who need God's help are some of the ways worthy priesthood holders exercise priesthood authority. The priesthood is real power from God. When I receive a blessing from a worthy priesthood holder, and exercise my own faith in God, I feel strength and God's power in my life. What a blessing to have this power from God available to all with faith; the same power by which Christ performed miracles when He was on the earth! Show more Show less
