Hi I'm Tessa

I was born and raised in Utah. I'm now serving a mission in San Fernando, California and loving it! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Since I was little, I've always wanted to be a mom. I love working with children, and have recently enjoyed working with at-risk children from my area. I am a college student, working hard and hoping to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. I love crafts, baking, volleyball, listening to live bands, and of course, being with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

First of all, this gospel is true. It is incredible, I love it with my whole heart, and it is true. I was born and raised in the Church by loving parents. Through the teenage years, I began to seek answers for myself. I had been taught that the Church was true, but was it really? I had doubts and questions that needed answering. I read the Book of Mormon intently--studied it, highlighted my favorite verses, and wrote down little notes of things that popped into my head. I prayed consistently to know of the truth. I attended Church each week. I lived righteously. Slowly but surely, I began to know for myself that this gospel is true. It didn't come all at once, but through multiple experiences, bits and pieces of the gospel were revealed to me, just like a puzzle. The pieces fit together perfectly, and I am left without a shadow of a doubt knowing that this gospel is true. It just brings so much JOY and comfort and peace and clarity and everything good into my life. There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe this Church. I can tell you it is true. It is incredible, I love it with my whole heart, and it is true. I am eternally grateful to know this. Please find out for yourself what this Church of Jesus Christ is all about--ask questions, ask all you want, and pray to get confirmation that the answers are true.

How I live my faith

Attending church each week uplifts me and keeps me grounded. It motivates me to be the best me. Sunday is always the highlight of my week for this reason! I love participating in visiting teaching, where I get to visit once a month with two different amazing girls, helping them with any of their needs, staying updated on their lives, and sharing a gospel message with them. This is an act of service that unites our ward. We all look out for each other, making our ward truly feel like a family. I feel blessed to be able to contribute and keep an eye out for two of God's precious daughters.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Tessa
Marriage is ordained by God, and as such, He is a key factor in marriage. Successful marriage requires faith, both in God and faith in each other. Think of it this way--marriage is like a triangle, with a woman in one corner, man in the other, and God at the top. As man and woman move closer to each other in their relationship, they are also moving towards God. Likewise, when they move towards God, they inevitable move closer to each other. Shared faith in God can bind married couples and families together in a commitment to common values. It can lend them strength to overcome obstacles that might otherwise damage these important relationships. Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father are our ultimate examples. By recognizing their pure love and emulate their actions, striving always to be like them, our relationships will be strengthened--whether in a marriage or a friendship. Show more Show less
