Hi I'm Brianna

"Home" to me is Southern California, Idaho, Mexico, Argentina, and Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, studying Music Therapy. I served a mission in Argentina and miss it daily. I love my family. I have 5 brothers, and they are the most important people in my life! We have a saying our family that "if it's important to one of us, it's important to all of us." Looking back, I realize how much they sacrificed to be at the events that were important to me, and take pride in that phrase. I love music. I have played piano for over 15 years, and music is like a second language to me. I love all genres of music, and almost always have a song playing in my head. Music is my stress release and my window to heaven. I love people, especially children. I lived in Mexico for a summer and taught at a community center there. I met the most incredible people and loved every second that I spent there with them. I believe strongly in the divine potential of all human beings, and have a strong testimony of the worth of souls. One of the greatest purposes of life is to share experiences, laughter, and love with those who surround you. I am passionate about the gospel, kindness, and laughing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me happiness. I am a Mormon because this gospel brings hope, peace, and meaning to my life. I am a Mormon because I believe in eternal families. I know that through the gospel of Jesus Christ, I can be with my goofy brothers forever. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints supports and defends the divine institution of the family. I am a Mormon because I have found direction and safety through the Holy Ghost. I work so hard to stay close to my Heavenly Father, and as I do, I feel of His love and know that He has a plan for me. I know that I don't have to worry about the simple stresses of life because I can trust that He will help me to figure those things out. I am a Mormon because I love being Mormon! I have learned to love the commandments, and I know that Christ's way truly is the easiest way. Some may think that the commandments are inconvenient or irrelevant, but as I have continued to put the Lord first in my life, and trust in Him, the stresses of daily life have dissipated and I have found sincere happiness. I am a Mormon because I know that the Lord loves me and wants me to be happy and successful. I know that the only way to return to be with Him is through obedience to His laws. I am a Mormon because it is a gospel of love, a gospel of families, a gospel of truth, and a gospel of joy. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have learned that the gospel is so much more than simply having a testimony. Those who are truly converted to their faith do the simple things - keep the commandments, read their scriptures, say meaningful daily prayers, attend all of their church meetings, and love the world around them. I have learned that kindness matters. One of the greatest ways to live the gospel is to be fiercely kind to the people who surround you. Christ was and is the ultimate example of love, and we are expected to follow in His footsteps. Be kind to human frailty. Choose to highlight the strengths in people instead of focusing on weaknesses and mistakes. I have learned that the Lord will never forsake you. I have learned that lasting happiness comes from living the teachings found in the scriptures and taught by modern day prophets. I have learned that the commandments are not just suggestions for those who feel so inclined to follow them, but are divine instructions to safety and peace. I have learned the value of integrity, love, and purity. I say that "I have learned" these things because, although I grew up in the church, it wasn't until my freshman year of college that I came to realize how much I need the gospel in my life. It has only been through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, through becoming truly converted to the gospel and His teachings, that I have found happiness again.
