Hi I'm Whitney Arnell

I am a dancer and a Jr. Miss Pageant winner. I love hunting and fishing. I'm a missionary in Columbus Ohio, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a small town where I had many opportunities to be involved in a lot of things. I have been a competitive dancer for almost 12 years and a have performed all over the western United States as well as into Mexico for Carnival Cruise Lines. I also was involved in Student Government and held the Jr. Miss title for two counties while in high school. I love sports and being outdoors. I have been a lifeguard for four years and love the water. Wake-boarding, wake-surfing, cliff jumping and jet skiing are some of my very favorite things to do. One thing that is very different about me is that my family does Foster Care. We have had over 33 children come and live with us over the last seven years. We had the opportunity to adopt two of them four years ago. They bring me so much joy! I get to be a big sister to these beautiful children and show them how a family should be run. I had a hard time for a little while with self-esteem. I was made fun of in school and struggled socially. One thing that helped me to overcome this trial and stand on my own two feet was my knowledge of my Heavenly Father. I know I am a daughter of God. He knows my problems and flaws and loves me no matter what. I am currently serving a full-time mission in Columbus Ohio! It is incredible. There is nothing I would rather be doing with my time.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 15 I had the opportunity to be sealed to my newly adopted siblings. Before then, I lived what the Gospel taught. But as I was sitting there with my family, the truth of the church was so apparent to me. I knew that it was true and wanted nothing but to be with my family forever. Since then I have built upon my testimony slowly, but surely. I was able to meet the Prophet and felt the Spirit testify that these things are true. I want nothing more than for everyone to have the peace and happiness that I enjoy everyday by living the teachings of The Church. For this reason I will be serving a mission for the next 18 months.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the church. I was able to plan and lead youth camps, and seminary classes. While my dad served as Bishop, my family was often called on to do random things for the church and those were some of my best memories growing up. After serving in many presidencies and councils I have grown very fond of the Gospel and the way it affects people.

What is being a Mormon like?

Whitney Arnell
Being a Mormon is like having a blindfold taken off of your eyes while standing in the sun with all the people you love. This church gives me so much happiness and joy. I love my family and know that if I do the things that God would have me do, I can be with them not only in this life but the next. Being a Mormon has helped me get through hard times. The church is a support system and a second family to me. Show more Show less
