Hi I'm Morgan Bugee

I grew up in Georgia. I am a teacher, a friend, a daughter, and a sister. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Georgia. I have 4 sisters and 15 nieces and nephews, things get pretty crazy at family gatherings. After graduating from high school in 2008, I attended 4 years of college at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I chose to study elementary education. In the fall of 2012, I participated in my student teaching experience in Mesa, AZ. I graduated in December 2012 and am currently living and working as a 5th grade teacher in AZ. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, reading, swimming, playing basketball, and being with friends. Another hobby that I am developing is baking. I love baking cupcakes!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but there comes a time when you can no longer rely on the faith of your parents and need to decide if you want to continue on this path. When I was 17 years old, I wanted to know if what I had been taught my whole life was true, so I knelt in prayer and asked my Heavenly Father if it was true. I felt a sense of peace and comfort that indeed it was true. After that experience, I never once questioned why I was a Mormon. I attend church each Sunday and participate in additional church activities because I get that spiritual reassurance that the way I am choosing to live my life is taking me on a path which leads back to my Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because it brings me joy.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in the Young Single Adult ward on the campus of Arizona State University. I find strength when I attend and participate in church activities. Some of my closest friends have been made here because I see a shining light illuminating from them as they serve one another. I work on the "Search & Find" committee which helps locate ward members to make sure they know when and where we meet each Sunday to worship. This calling has helped me escape my comfort zone and reach out to those who are seeking the truth and light that this church brings.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Morgan Bugee
I know there is a God because I can look around me and see all the amazing things that He has created and organized everything from the blades of grass to the palm trees swaying in the breeze to the puddle that collect on the streets after a rain storm. C.S. Lewis wrote, " I believe in Christ like I believe in the Sun- not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else." Show more Show less
