Hi I'm Taneisha

I'm from Utah. I love sports, friends and of course my family! I'm also a bit of a nerd...I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up as the only girl in my family, surrounded by four brothers. I love my family and enjoy doing things with them. I played three sports in high school, volleyball, basketball and softball. I studies Chemistry at Southern Utah University for a year before my mission. One day I hope to go to pharmacy school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church. Growing up with the gospel has been a blessing, and until I entered high school I didn't really recognize that. Going to seminary brought a whole new light to the gospel for me and began to make me think about the way I had been living the gospel. I didn't know nearly as much as I felt I should have, so I began to read more, searching for things that I had missed, passed by or blown off in the past. The gospel hadn't been incredibly important up to this point in my life and my testimony wasn't really my own. I always thought I had good friends and wasn't doing anything wrong. I went to church most Sundays, and attended Mutual activities when there wasn't an athletic event going on that evening, which wasn't very often. During the first few years of high school I attended athletic activities over pretty much anything. This wasn't bad, but it was the best thing I could have done. A talk given by a general authority made me rethink my priorities, of good, better and best! Living this way has helped me to strive to be better and live by the gospel, to learn and grow every day, because I know that if I'm not improving, I'm am moving backwards. I know now that this church is true and that a young boy through proper authority from God restored the full and true gospel onto this Earth. I know Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and through repentance, unshaken faith, and enduring to the end with a diligence in God I can return to live with my Heavenly Father for all eternity.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life I have been involved in youth programs and things of the sort. I have tried to be the best I could be and live the commandments of my Father in Heaven. Now, I am serving a mission in the California Arcadia Mission where I am speaking Spanish. I absolutely love it!

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes, prophets live and guide the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints today. It makes sense that if God spoke to ancient prophets like Noah, Abraham or Moses, that he would speak to modern prophets as well. Today we are guided by a Prophet, namely, Thomas S. Monson, as well as apostles to help reveal things unto us in these latter days. Show more Show less
