Hi I'm Jared Lindsay

I am a Competitive Swimmer, I study at BYU-ID, I love to be outdoors, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

The most important things to me in my life are first: My testimony of Jesus Christ, second: My family, and third: My education. I am actively engaged in competitive swimming, volleyball, football, and basketball. I very much enjoy being outdoors, my two favorite places to be are in the mountains or on the beach. With loving the outdoors I am an avid fisherman, hunter, camper, and hiker. One of my favorite this to do with my family is havering a big get together where we BBQ, I love to cook and eat BBQ. Because of my deep love for the water I had the opportunity to become a lifeguard, and I loved it because I love helping people in need. I was very active in the Boy Scout of America and reached the highest ranking of Eagle Scout. With my time in the Boy Scouts I got to do many fun things that I continue to enjoy today like throwing knives and tomahawks, archery, and river rafting. I would also consider myself to be a Survivalist. I would also call myself a thrill-seeker, because I love theme parks and water parks. I enjoy having a great time with people, and making them laugh. I believe that laughter is the best medicine, and can cure any bad day. I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in the North Carolina Charlotte Mission of Miracles. After my mission I will attend BYU-I studying psychology specializing in behavior science, and with that I want to help kids with behavioral problems, and I love being a Mormon!!!

Why I am a Mormon

There are a lot of choices we have to make in this life, and the choices we make in life will determine our destiny. With so much confusion in the world it's hard to know what is right and what is wrong. There was a time in my life that I questioned everything, I have to know what was truth. I had to know if there was a God or a "supreme creator". My parent had taught me from the very beginning of my life that there was and that he want us to be obedient to him in order to have happiness. But as I got older, and as I looked at those who lived differently and saw that they were happy, I began to doubt everything that I had been taught, I began to doubt God. I felt it hard or difficult to follow God. So I decided that I was going to throw away what my parents taught me and live my life they way I wanted to because that's what I thought would be me happiness. But as I was about to make that life decision, I taught to myself "have you done everything in your power to come to know it there is a God?" And I said "no." Before I was only going through the motions, I never tried. I didn't have real intent. So I decided that before I drop everything that I was going to put all my effort into trying to find God. And that when my life changed forever! My intent became pure. I truly want to know if what I had been taught through the out my childhood was true. The path was not easy. And it took some time. I search everywhere, in a lot of different church's, but I always felt empty. I was drawn back to the Mormon church. It wasn't until I read the Book of Mormon, and prayed about it that I received a spiritual impression that their is a God and he loves us, and that this his his true church. This spiritual experience is something that I would could never deny, even if I had to give up my life i would never deny it. That why I am a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I believe that by small and simple things bring about great things. I am huge on small act of kindness. I believe that if we want to change the world we have to change ourselves, and that if we want there to be good in the world we have to be the good. I also believe that people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I believe that love can change the world. I want to love other because I know that God loves me. I feel the love of god when I am serving others. There is a scripture that says "when he are in the service of your fellow beings he are only in the service of your God." I live my faith by trying to be the good in the world, because there is already enough bad in the world, and it doesn't need any more. I love God and try my best to be the best example I can be even though I am not perfect, but I strive to do the best I can and I know that God will make up the rest. And that give me the hope to keep moving forward!
