Hi I'm Mark

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I come from a great family with great parents. I was raised in the church and had a great childhood. Much was expected of me growing up but I learned young to stick to it and stick it out when times get tough. I met a beautiful woman at BYU Provo and she agreed to marry me on August 7th 1993. She is the love of my life and we are raising 5 of our 6 children. Our oldest son, Jacob, died when he was very young and he is still a part of our family. Greatful for the knowledge that, if faithful, we will be with him again when we die.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints so the decision for me to be baptized and become a Mormon was easy. I will say, however, that when I turned 18 and was preparing for my mission to Cleveland, OH, I had an urgency to receive a personal withness of the truthfullness of what I had been taught all my life. Prior to my mission, my life and faith was easy. Most of my friends were members of the church and almost all my activities as a teenager where with my local congregation. When High School was over and I was now facing the world and my place in it, my prayers became more earnest. I wanted a sure witness from the Holy Ghost that this church was God's church. I wanted to know if the Book of Mormon was truely written by ancient prophets in the American continent. I wanted to know if Joseph Smith really saw God and Jesus in a grove of trees in Upstate New York in 1820. I wanted to know if the power and authority granted to Jesus's apostles, once lost, was truely restored by Peter, James, & John to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdrey. I received a personal witness on my knees on the top bunk of my dorm room, my hands clutching the Book of Mormon. I spent the next 2 years testifying of the knowledge I received. I know now as I did then that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church. I will continue to share that testimony with all that want to hear it.

How I live my faith

I love Heavely Father and know that He lives. I am constantly amazed at the blessings he sends daily, even when I don't deserve them. The gospel of Jesus Christ includes me I and strive to live the priciples daily. Sometimes my desire is better than my effort but I will continue to strive.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Mark
Having a son that died made this gospel principle very important to me. I know God has sent us to this earth to live happily as families and His plan includes the continuation of the family in heaven. This principle, like many others, comes with a price. I know I must keep the commandments and do all I can here on the earth to be worthy to enter God's kingdom. I am far from perfect, but God has made provisions for the faithful to enter. "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life..." (Mattew 7:14). God knows me and each one of my family members personally and loves us all. He will be just but kind in his judgment of us. We can live forever with him and if we are faithful, will be with our families in the eternities. Show more Show less
