Hi I'm Sami Alberts

I am a humble college student who loves the outdoors, singing, playing sports, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

Well, I am a one of four kids. I have been born of awesome parents who love me and have blessed me by raising me in the gospel. I love singing, I used to play soccer and lacrosse. I still love playing them as well as tennis, racquetball, and flag football. I am currently a college kid and love to learn about the human body. It is such a gift. I love the outdoors and hiking, backpacking, and exploring they are definitely things I am super in to! I love life, it is such a gift and every second matters. I love to travel and will be serving a LDS church mission to serve in Brisbane Australia! I am very blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Savior Jesus Christ. This is his gospel restored in these latter-days. The windows of Heaven are open and I have asked him if this gospel and church is true. I have received an answer of Yes. Yes it is. I feel peace every time I walk into the church. It is like home to me. I feel love from the other members and a support system that is undeniable. My youth would have been completely different if I had not been a member and been surrounded by such good loving examples. I am a Mormon because this gospel brings me peace, support, and direction. Because of this decision, I know that my Heavenly Father is proud of me and the decisions I am making. I am a Mormon because I want to obey ALL of the commandments of God, because essentially that is the only way that I have ever felt truly happy. This gospel brings a happiness, peace, and security in my life. That is why I would never stray from it, or ever consider another religion. This is the truth.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is kind of a funny question. I feel like my life is my faith. I wake up every morning and have a conversation with my Father in Heaven telling him how grateful I am to have this life, the many blessings that are offered to me. I speak with him as a daughter speaks to her father. I love him, I know he loves me and he trusts me. Then I always have a prayer in my heart of trying to keep away from temptations, to have my Heavenly Father's protective and guiding spirit in my life. I pray over every meal to bless the food to nourish and strengthen my body. Every night I write down in my journal a record of the small miracles and events that happened that day that I show my Heavenly Father that I didn't take anything for granted. I read this holy word, the Bible and the Book of Mormon to more fully understand what he wants of me. Often this is how he answers me in my prayers throughout the day and the impressions I receive that are revealed to me concerning thoughts and feelings I may have had during the day. I try to serve and love his spirit children (which is all of you) because each and every one of us has divine qualities inherited from God. He often answers our prayers through his humble children that he places in our lives, so I try to be his messenger and servant to answer his other children's prayers. Each week I go to church and renew a covenant that is precious between Him and I called the sacrament. That I will always remember his Son Jesus Christ who suffered for my sins in the Garden and on the Cross. I promise him that I will remember, and he promises me that he will be with me. I also serve as a Primary worker to teach the kids in our ward and prepare them for their baptism. I teach the gospel to them and they teach me how to be humble, submissive, and how to love. I will soon be teaching these same principles to investigators like yourself in Brisbane Australia. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know it. I live it. I love it.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Sami Alberts
We need a Savior because when we sin, we become unclean. In the scriptures it says that no unclean thing can dwell within the presence of God. How can we ourselves who are unclean enter into heaven again? We can't by ourselves, that is when the Savior comes and is the mediator between us and God. He suffered and atoned for our sins so that he can fulfill the claims of justice for the sin to be paid for, and gives us fulfills the law of mercy by saving us from that sin so that we can enter into Heaven again.
