Hi I'm Brandon

I grew up in Utah. I have been called to serve in the Winnipeg, Canada mission leaving June 12. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up most of my life in Saint George and love everything about it! Basketball is something I have put a lot of effort into have enjoyed playing in high school and at a collegiate level. I feel like there is several principles I've learned from basketball and hope to apply those as I get older. I love to be with my family. They definitely are the most important people in my life. I know that the reason we are such a tightly woven family is because of the teachings of Jesus Christ. As I have been on my mission in Winnipeg, Canada I've grown to love my family even that much more! I continue to learn more about myself and the things of the Savior each and every day. The depth of my love and appreciation for what my parents taught me increase. This Gospel truly is the only thing in this world that can bring peace to the soul and joy to the heart!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that this gospel truly makes someone happy! The teachings found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon have steered a course of safety to me and I've literally witnessed what happens when one does not follow the teachings. The Gospel as outlined in the Book of Mormon has brought me and my family such happiness! I stay a member of the LDS faith because of the Book of Mormon. There is a true power found in the Book. When I read I can feel of the goodness and truth that flow from it's pages. Over a period of time and through a lot of diligent study, I received little "assurances" (Alma 58:11) which gave me the faith to continue on until I could say I knew without a doubt that Heavenly Father lives, Jesus Christ is the Savior, Joseph Smith was called to be a Prophet of God, and the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by putting God first. There are so many things in life that demand our attention and the world will entice us in every which way to put those things above our Heavenly Father. I was quite involved in school and in sports throughout my life and often times they attempted to take that precious time our Heavenly Father asks of us. Whether that be participating in sports on the Sabbath, not have enough time to really study the scriptures, attend the temple, or go to institute. I had a specific experience where I knew I needed to essentially "step my spiritual game up". I went to my Heavenly Father in prayer and asked Him to help me feel of His presence in my life more as I made the necessary changes to put God first. I promised to God that I would do my very best to put Him first. As I walked in faith the most profound thing happened. My workload or the demands of life didn't seem to dissipate but I gained the strength and confidence that I could handle them. The worries that I once had left me and I know that when I put God first he will make everything work for my benefit.
