Hi I'm Ivonne Reyes

I am a full time missionary, I am a daughter, I am a MORMON

About Me

I am the 2nd of 5 children. I graduated from high school in the year 2011. I finished my freshman year of college and afterwards decided to stay home and prepare to serve a mission. I love outdoor activities, like hiking, running, and I absolutely love the beach. I just turned 21. I love doing community service. My family means everything to me. I have two amazing parents that have supported me in every decision I've made. I have a very loving older brother that is such a great example to me. And my 3 younger sisters are such a joy to have. i am currently serving in what to me is the best mission ever. Which is the great California Ventura Mission. I love my mission and i have learned and grown so much from this experince. And i plan to continue growing and learning as much as i possibly can.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and older brother joined the church when I was 6 yrs old. So I've pretty much grown up in the church. But because i have grown up with the gospel I always felt that I never had the opportunity to truly gain my own testimony of the church. I grew up knowing about the gospel and i took it for granted, I felt that i would never be able to go through a true conversion. But I was wrong, you don't have to be an investigator to be converted. Conversion is a life long process. You go through trials in your life that strengthen you and strengthen your believes. All of your experiences, you trials, and your accomplishments help you gain a testimony of the gospel. I have a testimony on the atonement of Jesus Christ. He suffered in the garden of Gethsemane and died in the cross for us. So that we may repent of our sins and return to live with our Heavenly Father once again. I know that this is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ. I believe that we do have modern day prophets that guide us. I am very grateful for the knowledge I have of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I was a very shy person, it took me some time to warm up to others. So growing up i didn't do the best job at sharing the gospel with those around me. I tried to set a good example but I'm not perfect i made mistakes but i tried my best. As i got older and as i understood the beliefs and as i had the desire to follow Jesus Christ i decided to serve a full time mission. Which has been the best decision ever! And now i live my faith by going out there and sharing what i believe. I go out there and try to do the things Christ would do if He were here. And i can assure you that it's a very rewarding thing to do. It's not always easy but i know that with God i can do anything.
