Hi I'm DaNae

I grew up in the small town of Shelley, Idaho. I am happily married and have lived in Idaho all my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married since April 10, 2010. We had our first baby September 19, 2013. We are so grateful that we have been given the opportunity to raise a child. His name is Braxton and he brings the Spirit into our home like nothing else! He loves to play with his Dad's tractors (luckily his Dad still has tractors from when he was growing up) and of course in all the cupboards. Sometimes I wonder why we buy him toys, because he plays with things that are not toys lots more than he plays with his toys we spent money on. :) It is so amazing to watch him learn and grow and we do not know where we would be without him! I went to college at BYU-Idaho, and graduated in July of 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. I worked at a detention center with troubled teens as well as for a hospice company, with people whose lives are nearing their close for one year before our son was born. It was a great blessing and I learned a lot. I love helping and serving others. Now, I stay at home with Braxton and I am facilitating a BYU-Idaho Pathway class, and that has been a lot of fun! I love being around people and playing board games. Some of my favorites are Killer Bunnies, Ticket to Ride, Agricola, Pandemic, Power Grid, and 7 Wonders. I love learning new games and enjoy several other games as well. I am so blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While I have always gone to church, I have had the opportunity to gain a testimony of my own. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is true. I know that Joseph Smith was called by God as a young boy at 14 to restore our Church on the earth in this dispensation. I have felt God's love for me. I know that He knows each one of us and is aware of what we are going through. I know that as we rely on Him, He will help us through any challenges that we will face.

How I live my faith

I love getting to know new people. I work with the primary children (ages 18 months to 12 years old) at church. It is so fun to be around the children and hear the funny things they say. All of those who serve in our church are volunteers, but we are blessed for the service we give. I live my faith by attending church each week, reading my scriptures daily, praying, and having weekly Family Home Evening (a time where we get together as a family and talk about gospel principles). My husband and I also have a strong testimony of tithing (paying 10% of our income to our church to help with the different expenses the church has), and have been very blessed throughout our marriage to have our needs met, even with giving 10% of our income to tithing. It is amazing to see how blessed we are for living this commandment.
