Hi I'm Gregory

From Sandy, Utah. I love singing, acting, and spending time with family. I served in the Frankfurt Germany mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love singing and playing piano. In high school I did theatre and starred in a few lead roles, which included Mereb (Aida), Joe Hardy (Damn Yankees),Will Rogers (The Will Rogers Follies), Diomedes (Troilus & Cressida), and Father Flynn (Doubt). My mission in Frankfurt Germany was a precious time to me. The relationships that developed, my understanding of the gospel, and the testimony of truths being confirmed by the Holy Ghost are just a few things that make it all worth it. The cities I served in were: Offenbach am Main, Euskirchen/Bonn, Aachen, Jena, and frankfurt am Main. I absolutely loved it!

Why I am a Mormon

Living a virtuous life is a way for me to keep myself in line to accomplish the goals I set for myself. Being a Mormon gives me a sense of purpose to how I live. I feel like the teachings of the Church enrich the way I view life and make me a happier person. I am a Mormon because the church supports a high standard of living. When I look around at people who are stellar role models, regardless of religious affiliation, they hold high standards to abide by. I find that the most miserable people who complain the most or don't have what they think they want are the people who do not hold themselves or others accountable as a result of lacking standards. The happiest people set those standards as goals and find happiness in reaching them. I think it is so important to be happy and the teachings from the church bring me that happiness. I know that the doctrines taught in the church are true because I have a personal relationship with the Holy Ghost. He has confirmed and continues to confirm realized truths about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, the Prophet Joseph Smith and his divine calling, the inspired record of The Book of Mormon, and many other things. Because the Holy Ghost has touched my heart, I believe. I know this church is true. I have been promised great things in my life as I continue to move forward with faith in Jesus Christ. I want to help other people through these promises and know that I have blessed the lives of all those needing my available hand. Those promises given to me require that I do something, such as remaining true to the truth. Where do we find truth? Well, ask God. I've found it in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Or, as many might say, The Mormons. I can't argue with God. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attended seminary at school regularly along with my other church meetings. I followed the prophet's counsel to go on a mission. I try to live the standards taught by our prophet, apostles, scriptures, and other leaders as I live each day. I make an effort to go home teaching to my designated families every month, and to be a good example to the families I teach; especially the youth. I have the desire to share the gospel with my friends, although we are all far apart all over the world. I pray fervently that we may have many opportunities to discuss the important details of life. Currently, I live by continuing to pray every day with Heavenly Father. I read the scriptures, attend church, and try to fulfill my callings. I know that taking that small time to do these things guides me. Prayer is especially important to me because this world is so full of philosophies, opinions, offense, and confusion; I know that I will not make it if I rely on such a world, so I rely on the One who knows best. It is with His guidance that I make it step by step, one day at a time. Such a belief requires faith and trust in the source of truth.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The prophet on the earth today is President Thomas S. Monson. I have never met him personally, but when I listen to him or read his teachings I get a feeling that what he says is true. Nothing he says or does is selfish or malicious. I really feel like he wants what's best for me because he has so much love. His teachings guide us on how to lead better lives and learn from our experiences. He is a prime example of someone with a clean, righteous, and hilarious sense of humor. He shares many tender personal stories and his remarks never fail to make me smile. Show more Show less
