Hi I'm Lydia

I'm a Welsh Fashion designer with a love of Cities and Sewing. I'm a Mormon and I love it!

About Me

I'm a recent university graduate and I love to design and make beautiful dresses. I have a dream of opening my own Vintage inspired modest Bridal store. I love anything to do with cities or travel, I find other people's cultures fascinating, But my heart lies in Paris and I would love to spend some more time there one day immersing myself in the culture and beauty of the city. Other places I dream of going to include New York, and Norway to see the Aurora Borealis. I am planning on going on a mission sometime in the near future, this is something that has stayed with me since I was a young teenager I have an amazing family, I'm the youngest of three children, and I have incredible parents who have taught me well from a young age. My life is a happy one filled with creativity, spirituality and Joy.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born into the gospel, my own true conversion came throughout my teenage years. I was encouraged by those around me to develop spiritual independence; I needed to find out if this gospel was true for myself. For some it comes as a quick direct answer, for me it came in the happiness I felt when I was doing things that were pleasing to my heavenly father. I attended youth conferences, weekly activities, Sunday meetings, camps, Temple trips etc. By doing these things I found peace in a time, which can be hard for a young person. Throughout these years I had teachers, bishops, friends, parents, who all loved and still love me today to help me on my path. As a 22-year-old girl in today's world, it might seem strange that I don't participate in some of the things associated with my age group. But I can honestly say without a doubt that because of the gospel I feel freedom rather than restriction. My choices are my own, I don't see the ' I can't do's ' I see the ' I can do's ' I have incredible opportunities. What I love most about being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that through it's teachings I am blessed with the knowledge of my brother Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ who died so that I could live. He allows me to make right my mistakes and become a better person. Because of this Atonement, I don't need to carry the pain of sin or the pain of my sorrows on my own because we can become perfected in him. I'm far from perfect, I have good and bad days like everyone, but I am a Mormon because I find Joy and peace in living a life focused on love, service, family, and Jesus Christ, which in time will allow me to become better.

How I live my faith

In my ward I have recently been called as the second counsellor in Young women's program in the church. I'm really excited about this and I have secretly (Or not so secretly anymore!) wanted an opportunity to work with the young women ever since I left the program at 18. I'm excited to have the chance to work with and get to know such lovely young women, who I know will probably teach me far more than I will them. I also have the opportunity to be able to participate in an Especially For Youth conference this summer as a counsellor for a week, Again I look forward to the strengthening opportunities I know it will present. In my everyday life I live my faith by looking towards the Saviour. I try to imagine how Jesus Christ would feel or what he would do in everyday situations and try to act accordingly. By his example I am able to develop lasting friendships with people around me, because we are able to respect one another. His perfect example enables me to find peace.
