Hi I'm David

I grew up in North Louisiana.

About Me

I work as a data analyst. I love bicycling, hiking in the outdoors, reading historical biographies, or watching a good sci-fi or Star Trek movie. My children, step-children, and grandchildren are sources of learning and joy.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I was 8 years old my mother was killed. She had taught me that God hears prayers, even the prayers of little boys. I learned there is a loving God who is concerned for each of His children. I have felt His concern for me throughout my life. I know Christ rose from the grave. God, father of us all, did appear together with Jesus Christ to the boy Joseph Smith. I first read the Book of Mormon when about 11 years old. It is all it claims to be. I know it is true. I also know our God, our Father, is merciful, kind, unforgetting in His promises, and unconditional in His love for each of us. Christ is the great Healer. I have experienced His power to cleanse, heal, bring peace and comfort. It is a thing of beauty and joy. These things I know with all my heart are true.

How I live my faith

Going to church each Sunday is one of the ways I find to refocus my life on what's most important. Most recently I was asked to oversee the teaching of our class instructors at church, though I think it helped me more than the teachers.
