Hi I'm Sandra

I am a wife, a Mother and a Grandmother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in England, but have spent time living in Switzerland as an au pair and later in America as a young wife and mother. I love to travel and appreciate the different cultures of the world. I am a Mum to four lovely children, who are all married to wonderful spouses. So my husband and I are left home alone! I am also Granny to ten lovely, active and adorable grandchildren. I enjoy family history, dancing, reading, travel and have been known to enjoy a little shopping! My family are of utmost Importance to me. I count them amongst my greatest blessings. My Dad used to say "if you have a good wife, or in my case husband, and a good family, you are rich." So rich I am!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church before I was born so I was brought up a Mormon. My Dad was previously Church of England and my Mum a Methodist. They listened to the missionaries and felt that what they were taught was true and so as a young couple, with a little daughter, they became two of the five early church members in my home town. My parents were a great example to me of loving and serving family, friends and community, so for many years it was the norm for me. Living the gospel during those years had given me a basis of faith and a love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. In later years I could not rely on my parents knowledge and began to search more deeply for myself. I have found the principles of the gospel to be a wonderful basis for life and raising a family. For serving others and for coming to know Jesus Christ more personally. I have had many experiences which have confirmed that faith in me. I am deeply grateful for a relationship with Heavenly Father and His Son and appreciate their guidance in my life and in the lives of my family. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me great joy and happiness.

How I live my faith

At present I work with the women of the church, aged over eighteen. We oversee activities to enrich the lives of the women, arrange service when there is a need, take care of some spiritual education each Sunday. This is one of the oldest women's organizations in the world, we strive to help women strengthen self, family and community. There are some wonderful examples of womanhood around me. It is a pleasure to be a part of them. I have served in many capacities, teaching children, youth, adults. Sometimes an assignment may seem scary, but I have always found that these challenges have helped me to develop and grow to love those I work with and serve. One of the joys of serving in the church is the variety of people and ages you become involved with. You may be gorge walking one day, with a group of young people, and then leading a spiritual discussion the next. Never a boring moment. I enjoy serving others. I love teaching the gospel and feel it a privilege to serve. Striving to live the gospel is part of my everyday life.
