Hi I'm Kenna

I'm a student at Brigham Young University studying Public Health. I want to spend my life serving others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona and love the monsoons more than anything. Rain never came so when it did, I would run outside and dance in it until I was soaked to the bone. Now I go to school at BYU and I miss the heat, especially when it snows here, which is not my favorite. But, I love going to school and learning so many things I never knew I'd like. I'm majoring in Public Health and I was to be a Physician's Assistant which means that I spend most of my time studying science. I definitely appreciate my chemistry and physics classes but I find myself loving the humanities classes I've taken. There is just something so infinitely true about beauty and art. To me, it doesn't matter if a person relates to the artist because everyone can feel the way the artist felt when they look at the art. My biggest dream in life is to become involved with a service oriented program that travels to different countries around the world and helps make their lives more sustainable. I would love to go to Africa and just be around a people who smile through everything and are genuinely happy, seriously happy. I love laughing, being with friends and family, and going to the movies. I can quote movies and TV shows on command, you name it and I can probably quote some part of it. I love volunteering and giving my time to serve other people. I'm just living my life in such a way that I can make other people happy and that in turn makes me most happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the assurance it gives me that I can live again and have eternal happiness. My life hasn't been easy and I've had to go through challenges that most kids never have to face and the one thing that has helped me through has been my membership in this church. I am a Mormon because of the peace I gain just knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and has a plan for me. I am a Mormon because I know that I would be lost without the guidance and direction I receive from that loving Heavenly Father who helps me stay on the right path that will lead me to ultimate happiness. I am a Mormon because of the opportunity I have to serve those around me and I know that it is through that service that we come closer to God. I am a Mormon because I know that there is no other way to gain eternal life and live with God again. I am a Mormon because of the promise that if I live worthily, I can be with my family forever. I am a Mormon because I know that it is right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through by being an example of the church. I try to live my life like Jesus Christ would. I serve in a women's group where we visit each other at least one a month just to make sure they are taken care of. By participating in this, our group of women grows closer together and we know that there is always someone to turn to. Mainly, I try to live my faith through selfless service to other people be they members of the church or non-members. I am an example to those around me of kindness and acceptance. I have learned that everyone is a child of God and I treat them as such. I want everyone to feel the love of our Heavenly Father and the best way I know to do that is to show my love for them.
