Hi I'm David

South Carolina is my home. I study environmental science and I'll be starting optometry school soon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As an undergraduate research assistant in environmental science I've really come to enjoy exploring new concepts and ideas and then applying them to the real world. Being the first person in the world to find a new connection or understand how a certain system works is thrilling. Outside of the classroom I love fresh air and running. After successfully completing my first marathon last summer I'm now determined to compete in a triathlon. Swimming will be the hardest stage for me but all I need is practice. After graduation I'm headed to optometry school in the Fall. I've decided to become an optometrist because they have the best job helping others see better.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's awesome. Enough said.

How I live my faith

I definitely haven't parted the Red Sea or anything but having faith in Christ is still challenging. Christ wants me to always love everyone I see and keep Him close in my thoughts. It is really hard to never make mistakes and I certainly do slip up. However, because I know that God loves me and wants me to succeed I feel His love and support. Even as I make mistakes Christ always reaches out and wants me to return to him. Having a vision of what we literally see is critical, but more important is having a focused vision of why we are here in life and where we are headed.
