Hi I'm Kathie

I am a college student. I love to read. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently working on a Bachelor's Degree in History and Library Media. I love to read and cross stitch. I have never been the most social of people but have been blessed with great friends who make me leave my comfort zone but not too much to be irritating. I am the fourth out of five children. I am unmarried but I have two nieces that I adore.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church so I have been a member since I can remember. But it wasn't until I was 13 that I prayed for my own testimony about Joseph Smith's First Vision and the Restoration of the Gospel. I got my answer right away, as a firm "YES." It was through the song "Joseph Smith's First Prayer" and that song will always have a special place in my heart.

How I live my faith

I try and be a good example to others. I try to treat other like they should be treated, as children of God. I am a Family History Consultant for my ward. This means I help members with their genealogy.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Kathie
Gender equality is a very important issue in the world. I believe that men and women are equal. But equal does not mean the same or identical. Men and Women have different callings and responsibilities, but those responsibilities are equal in importance. Just because 'Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children' doesn't mean they are less then Fathers/men. We are different so we can work together in partnerships and become better then we would be by ourselves. Show more Show less
