Hi I'm Dillon Sorensen

Hi I was raised on the family ranch in Gunnison Utah. I'm now serving a mission in the Tennessee Knoxville Mission. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was raised on the family farm. We raised all sorts of crops such as, Alfalfa, Barley, Oats and Corn We also own a little over 400 head of mother cows, which we calve out during the winter months. I grew up working hard and helping around the farm where I could. My chores required me to feed the calves at home and feed the horses. When I was a little older I got the chance to go with my Dad and older brother to bring the cows and calves off the mountain. Over time my father gave me more and more responsibilities on the farm. It has helped me to grow and appreciate what my parents have done for me. Also it has turned me into the young man I am today. At a young age I was drawn into the cowboy way of life. I love to go out and ride my horse through the cows. I was always excited to go with my family to move the cows. My father always fostered my love for horses. He taught to me always put my livestock first. Make sure they are always taken care of. By him teaching this has made me who I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born an raised in the LDS church. It is awesome to that I can live with my family forever. What would be better than that? The answer is nothing. My great great great great grandpa Mellor was part of the Willie and Martin hand cart company who had a lot of struggles along the way. That for me is awesome to know that I have Pioneer ancestors.

How I live my faith

While living on a farm I have to put a lot of trust in my Heavenly Father. We had to put trust in the lord for everything we do on the farm. I have become a better person through prayer and regular scripture study. My testimony of our Heavenly Father has grown as I grew up. My dad taught me before you make a big decision what ever it is pray to know if it is the right thing to be doing. A big part of who I am today and how I live my life was learned within the walls of my home. I was taught at a very young age the importance of going to Church. That is the place where we are nourished by the good word of God. The most important part of Church for me is the Sacrament. I love it so much because it helps me through the coming week and it also helps remind me what my Savior Jesus Christ did for me.
