Hi I'm Emily

I live off adventure. I know happiness is a choice. I'm serving a mission in Papeete, Tahiti and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, and currently serving in the Tahiti, Papeete Mission. I love to experience life and actively seek new adventures. My life motto is LovinLivin. My favorite place to be is outside. I mountain bike, hike, backpack, and canyoneer and hope to get into rock climbing soon. I also avidly enjoy water and snow sports such as skiing. I also enjoy rolling down hills and sitting on my roof at night. I am a huge fan of the beauty of nature. I also have danced and played soccer for much of my life as well as play the violin and piano. I come from a family of 10 and love them more than anything. I am excited to spend eternity with them. After my mission I will attend BYU and one day get married in the temple.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and that He knows me and loves me. I know that because I am blessed with this knowledge, He expects a lot of me. This is why I have chosen to serve a mission, so I can share with my brothers and sisters this message of Joy and Hope! He truly knows and loves each of us personally. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and have followed Moroni's promise found in Moroni 10:4. I have prayed for myself to know if the book is true and received a witness of it's truth. I cannot deny! I know that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son and they spoke to him. I also know that through the power of the priesthood, he has restored the full Church of Christ as it was in the ancient days. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of God today on the Earth. He receives direction directly from Him on how to direct this church. I know that the twelve apostles have also been called of God and are directed by Him. Jesus Christ is my savior. He truly suffered and died for the sake of all man kind (that includes me) and it is only by coming to Him that we are saved. He is the center of all we believe. Prayer is real. The gift of the Holy Ghost blesses me each and every day. I feel His comforting arms around me almost constantly. We are not meant to be alone, Jesus Christ promised that He will not leave us comfortless. Living the precepts and principles of this church brings joy, peace, and direction. It has brought lasting happiness and fulfillment to my life. The guidance that I have received through it has helped me become closer to being the person that I want to be. "I am a Mormon, I know it, I live it, I love it!"

How I live my faith

This gospel is the most precious thing in my life. It brings me joy and much needed direction every single day. Because of this I want to share it! When I was 15, I made a commitment to be a missionary every single day. Everyone needs to be loved and strengthened whether or not they are members of our church. In July 2013 I received my mission call to the Tahiti, Papeete Mission, speaking Tahitian and French. I have also shared my faith by performing in the Nauvoo Pageant in Illinois, the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, NY, and Savior of the World, in Salt Lake, UT. These productions are rich with the spirit and I have been blessed to be part of them. I have also served in various callings in the Young Women's Organization and as a family history consultant.
