Hi I'm Elizabeth Humphrey

I'm a Mormon and I love it.

About Me

Most people call me Lizzie. I am in my final year of College. I study Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry which might be terrifying to some but I love it. A not so secret passion of mine is Maths. (cue gasps of horror). I love maths so much I want to study it at university and then later go on to teach it back at High School. After revealing how much I love maths, it may shock people to know that I also love Cheer leading, as the two don't usually go together. For the past 11 years I have been part of a dancing troop doing everything from Cheer leading to Hip-hop to Gymnastics. Oh and I should probably mention my family. I have a great Mum and Dad, just the one brother and of course patch- our family dog.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon even though my dad is not. I have had the choice, from being as young as I can remember, whether to not only attend church but to be a Mormon. I have chosen to do what I know to be right. I love every bit of being a Mormon. I love the guidance and comfort I get when I read the scriptures contained in the Bible and Book of Mormon. I love the way I am encouraged to be the best person I can and to help others in any way possible. I am so thankful I know that I am loved unconditionally by our Heavenly Father and I am so grateful for what Jesus Christ has done for us all. We all make mistakes but whether they are big or small, I know I can always put things right. I know this church is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who restored the gospel. When I read the Book of Mormon the pure feeling I get in my heart tells me it is true. There is no doubt about it for me. Sometimes I think life can be like being in a dark cave- without any light I would get lost, confused and hurt. But with this gospel in my life, guiding me to safety and the right path, I can have light to show me the way. Because I have such a great thing in my life I want to share it with others so if you are reading this and haven't read the Book of Mormon-read it and know of the happiness I have in my life.

How I live my faith

I love charity work. I think the feeling you get from helping others out is so great and that is definitely one thing I love about the church- we are usually either doing a service project, planning another one or encouraging each other to help someone else out. It was only recently that the ward in Wakefield collected money in the town for Marie Curie.I think I live my faith by being willing to help out others. Though the main way I think I live my faith is 'by example'. People often recognize that I am different whether it is by the way I speak or treat others. I am glad I stand out because I want people to see how happy the gospel makes me- and this is extremely happy.
