Hi I'm Peter Dracocardos

I grew up in Lichfield, my father is from Greece. I work in the building industry as a carpenter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest child of 4. I work in the building industry as a carpenter; I have been doing it for 8 years and have worked on restoration projects of National Trust properties and done a variety of other work on schools, hospitals and libraries etc. I have been married for a year to my beautiful wife and enjoy going on walks in the country side with her. In my free time I like to play on computer games with friends over the internet and meet up with friends and family to catch up and socialise. I also love watching films of all types and have a collection to rival blockbuster :-)! Obviously, I also make time to go to church each week and learn more about God each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it encourages people to be better and love others. I find that I have a peace in my life because of the teachings of Jesus Christ that I have never found anywhere else. When I was a teenager I had to decide for myself if I wanted to live my life by the teachings of Jesus Christ or choose another path. I obviously decided that the church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints was for me and ever since then it has taught me to love others, to try to put them first and be honest. I volunteered for 2 years to move to Scotland and to teach and serve the people there. I found it one of the most rewarding times of my life; to be able to go and teach and share with people my beliefs each day. But most of all I loved to meet people with real problems in life and show them how the gospel of Jesus Christ could help them with their problems so that they could see hope and realise how good life can be. I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is real and that he is the Son of God and that all he wants for us is to be happy and return to him. His teachings help us to be happy and find real joy in this life and give us the promise of being with those we love after this life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day by being helpful and thoughtful to others and their feelings. I always try to treat others with respect and am polite and curtious at every opportunity. I used to spend a lot of my time teaching and organising and running events for the teenagers of our church, but have recently moved so I had to stop. I miss the involvement of seeing young people develop good qualities and virtues and change themselves for the better.
