Hi I'm Megan

Born in South Africa, live in England. I'm a mother, a wife a poet, dreamer, aspiring artist and writer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was married in 2006 and I'm a mother of two very boisterous boys, they fill my life with laughter and keep me on my toes. When I'm not running around after them I enjoy filling my time with other things. I am a cook by trade though now I cook for my family, I really enjoy trying out new recipes and use my children as my guinea pigs. On top of loving food I love to read, write and paint. I enjoy reading stories to my boys in hopes they can enjoy the magical images and feelings these wondrous works have created for me. My favorite genre to read is fantasy. I love to watch rugby with my husband, its always interesting to watch when the countries we support are playing against each other. I enjoy spending time with my children and husband, they remind me of what life is all about. .

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but was not raised in it, when I was younger i didn't really have my own testimony of the gospel. I went to other churches to see if any of them felt like the right church to belong to, but I never felt comfortable or complete when I attended them. it was when I attended university of Aberystwyth in wales I met my husband. We grew closer together and became engaged and that's when a couple of sister missionaries called me looking for another Megan. I started to see the missionaries and the began to teach me, my husband stated to be taught by the missionaries after a few visits. I regained my testimony the same time my husband found his, he was baptised in 2005. I truly believe that was when in my whole life of knowing about the church I truly felt this was the right church to belong to. I felt the holy ghost so strongly at his baptism that it confirmed to me that this was indeed the right church to belong to. Eight years down the road I am still in the church and I am raising my boys with the values and standards I believe are important which has been taught to me through the gospel.

How I live my faith

I try to teach my boys the standards and values I want them to have later on in life. I try to show them by being an example and living the values that the gospel has taught me and the commandments the lord has given us. one scripture has always stood out to me Matthew 6: 24. "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon" I have found by following the teachings of Christ I have a rich and full life. Its not always easy but by giving back to others I am richly blessed. My calling allows me serve to give back to the sister and women who have been there in my time of need. I love to help and organise monthly meetings in where the sisters can meet up and share experiences and talents with one another, we grow together and its like having an extended family.
