Hi I'm Jensen Cordon

I am a teenager, a missionary, computer enthusiast, basketball player, and I am a Mormon

About Me

My name is Jensen and I am serving a mission in Mexico City Southeast for two years. I love to use the computer for everything I do and want to be a Computer Programmer. Upon returning from my mission, I will attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and study Computer Science. I love talking to people, saying awesome words like rad, tubular, gnarly, etc, and just having fun. I am in a family of 8 and am the oldest of my siblings. I also have been a Mormon my entire life. I am an Eagle Scout in my church's boy scout program and I love all the opportunities within the church to be with people that share my beliefs and be strengthened by their examples.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church with my family and have always remained active in that time. As I have aged, I have began to have a better understanding of my church and I love every minute of it. I love the church family we have and the fact that there is always someone who will help you in times of trouble. I love to attend the various church activities for youth that are wholesome and fun at the same time. As youth we go to dances, activities, and other fun activities. Most of all, I love that because Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected three days later, that I will be resurrected as well one day. I love being a Mormon so much and I can't imagine what my life would be like if I was not one. I know that I will return to live with my heavenly father again some day and if I strive to do my best, heavenly father will help me with anything I need help with.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is choosing to serve a full-time 2 year mission for the Church. I am serving in the Mexico City Southeast mission and I am super excited to be able to bring joy and happiness into their lives by teaching them about Christ and his love for them. It will be a lot of work, but it is totally worth it. I also live my faith by constantly being an example to those around me. If anyone ever has a question, I am more than willing to answer in the best way I can and to also be there for my friends and family with whatever they need. Another way I live my faith, is that my dad and I are companions and we home teach various families in my church. They may be inactive or completely active in the church and we visit their homes to just see how they are doing and help them with any problems they may be facing. I know that if I live my faith, I will have a better relationship with Heavenly Father, and will have a better life because of my actions.

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Jensen Cordon
When the church pioneers made the great trek to Salt Lake City, Utah, many adult men died, as well as young men, leaving the women single. In order to replenish the Earth, the church authorized the practice of polygamy. As soon as the church felt that we did not need polygamy anymore, the practice ended and we continue to not practice it anymore. Show more Show less
