Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up in San Diego, California. I have visited 30 different countries around the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently an intern in Edinburgh, Scotland working for a press and research office. Also, I am a full time university student, and I am interested in attending law school in the next few years. My favorite hobby is playing the violin. I have studied the violin for more than 10 years, and I have played in several orchestras in the United States. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling around the world. I have currently visited 30 different countries, and I have lived in three of those countries for long periods of time. I served as a missionary in Asuncion, Paraguay, and I am fluent in Spanish and partly in Guarani (an Indian language spoken by everyone in Paraguay). I love meeting new people from different cultures and learning about their lives. My goal is to be able to help all people across the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know this is the same church that Jesus Christ established when He was on the earth. God has called another prophet to the earth today as He did in ancient times, and I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet today. I know that Joseph Smith, a humble boy of only 14 years of age, saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ and His authority, Joseph Smith restored Christ's church on the earth again so that we can have eternal life and eternal happiness. More importantly for me, I know through Christ's gospel that I will be able to see my family and all the people I love again, even after death. I know that the Book of Mormon is true with all my heart. The Book of Mormon and the Bible have blessed my life eternally. They are the guides that I need to live with my family for all eternity. I know this not because somebody told me, not because I went to church, but because I prayed to my Heavenly Father. There is a lot of confusion in this world, and I wanted to know the truth. Every church says it has the truth, and the Mormon church was no different. So I decided to pray and ask my loving God for an answer. When I asked if this truly was the true church, I felt a warm feeling inside my heart. Nothing extravagant, but I knew it came from God. For this reason, I am a member of this church. I love the Savior Jesus Christ with all my heart. I want to be like Him and serve others at all times. He sacrificed Himself for us. I will do whatever it takes to follow Him. Although none of us are perfect, I know through Christ we can all live again and live with our families together forever. If we follow His example, His gospel, and His church, I know that is possible. For me, that is what is truly important in this life. I know this to be true with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by the small and simple things I do each day. As I often do not have a lot of free time with work and school, I try to serve others in small ways that will bless their lives. I try to write letters of encouragement to my family, I try to be kind to everyone at my work place and university, and I try to be an example by doing as Jesus Christ would. Jesus Christ is my savior, and I try (unsuccessfully most days) to live my life like His. Recently, I have been taking at least 30 minutes a day to do family indexing. I love my family, and I know I can help bless the lives of other people and their families by doing this. I seek to always pray in my heart to my Father in Heaven at all times during the day. I know I cannot do anything without His help, and I am grateful for all that He does for me. The least that I can try to do for Him during the day is to serve others as Christ did. We are all children of our Heavenly Father, and we must help each other so we can one day live together as an eternal family. Heaven would not be heaven without the ones that I love.
