Hi I'm Michael Nebeker Woolley

I grew up in Utah. I teach high school English and History. My wife and I are soon expecting our first. I LOVE Ultimate Frisbee.

About Me

I am a teacher in Utah County, teaching English and World History. I am the oldest son of ten kids. I'm an Eagle Scout, high school football player, and I love to play the piano, sing, and dance. I am a die hard Ultimate Frisbee fan and have played on several teams. I have traveled to various locations around the western US to play in tournaments. I have even played on the Salt Lake Lions, a professional organization in the AUDL (American Ultimate Disc League). I love to write. I write poetry, short stories, young adult fiction, and essays. My father is a teacher, which is why I want to be a teacher as well. I love to teach people new things. I find it exciting when I can help someone learn something new and exciting. I am newly married to my beautiful, and best friend. We'll be married for a year this next spring, which will be around the same time we welcome our first child into this world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of what I have learned while being a member. When I was younger, I questioned whether or not this was the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I wondered if it was really true, or if it was all a lie. I made a special effort one night to know for myself of the truth. When I prayed to our Heavenly Father, and asked him if this gospel is true, an explosion of warmth, peace, and joy flooded into my heart. That laid the foundation for my life in the gospel. From that point on, I have tried to live my life in accordance with the gospel of Jesus Christ; keeping Him the focus of my daily life. While doing so I have been blessed with the opportunity to study more about Him and his gospel. The more I study and learn the more grateful I am for Him and His Atonement. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that He suffered and died to pay the price for our sins. And on the third day, the tomb was empty, ushering in the resurrection of His children. I know that His gospel is taught, and His church is led today by living prophets and apostles. Just as He had organized His church in his day, He has restored His church on Earth today through his prophet Joseph Smith. I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

Our church is organized into units called "wards". Each ward is lead by a local leader called a "Bishop". This position is voluntary and is not a paid position. Each Bishop has tremendous work load to help each individual member. My position within the ward is a missionary. I assist the missionaries with individuals and families within the ward boundaries. I help fellowship, befriend, and offer service to all members of the ward. My other involvement within the ward is a Home Teacher. I get the privilege to visit members in their home and share with them my thoughts and feelings of the gospel and how much I love my Savior, and am grateful for Him.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Michael Nebeker Woolley
My feelings about the Book of Mormon is that it truly is the word of God. Just like the Bible, it is inspired writings of prophets of an ancient day, written for us in our day, to guide us back to our Heavenly Father. I only compliments the Bible and when used together, one can know the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
