Hi I'm Chris

I've grown up in Idaho. I am serving my mission in Louisiana. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I've grown up in a large LDS community. I was raised by a family strong in the gospel of Christ. I enjoy outdoor activities, such as camping, biking, and skiing. I don't participate in sports competitively anymore, but i used to play soccer, and I still love playing sports with friends. I joined the Army National Guard in 2011 as a 13D (field artillery). My experience with the military has been very rewarding and has given me great opportunities to share what I know and be an example. It has also helped me grow in faith and confidence.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised as a Mormon my entire life. When I was young I didn't really understand or care about how much that meant. I began to be sincerely curious about the truth of it when I was around twelve years old, and I realized that I never had any real reason to doubt the church, but I didn't have a true knowledge of my own either. I really wanted to gain my own knowledge and be able to say that I have a testimony of Christ and His church. I began attending LDS seminary classes once I got into high school, and this is where my faith began. I learned more in depth about each section of the scriptures. The Old and New Testaments of the Bible, the Doctrine and Covenants, and, of course, the Book of Mormon. The clarity of the lessons, the feelings and impressions I received, everything in those classes told me truth. I received my testimony when I was fourteen years old, and it has grown more than I ever imagined possible. One concept and principle at a time, I have come to the knowledge of this gospel, and no one can ever take that from me. My testimony, and all other sincere testimonies, are precious to me. They are miracles in my eyes, because a testimony comes from God himself telling you that something is right. I have had this experience more times than I deserve, but because of this I have no doubt. I cannot deny the Book of Mormon, or the Bible, or the Church of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I know it is the only way to live with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and my family forever. It is the happiest and most demanding aspect of my life, and I will gladly heed to any request given by God through the true prophet or direct revelation to me.

How I live my faith

In my youth I was a scout and did many service projects for the community and individuals. I earned my Eagle Scout award, completing my scouting requirements. I have served in many callings already in the church, including serving in presidencies of the Arronic Priesthood. As I was at training for the military I severed in two callings, being the Blessings Coordinator, and then the Assistant Missionary Leader. I also was a primary teacher for six year olds in my ward. I am currently serving my mission in Louisiana.
