Hi I'm Dave Bramwell

I am passionate about Kiteboarding, surfing, flyfishing and tennis and being a Mormon keeps it real.

About Me

I was born in Southern California and I think part fish, I love the water. If I am not playing in the water, am pursuing the fish that live there. I attended college at BYU-Hawaii and met my amazing wife with the islands becoming our home for many years. We raised our four children on the beaches of Hawaii. I attended graduate school at Oregon State University, also chasing fish. I love to flyfish for bonefish, bass and trout. Our family moved to North Carolina not only for the great family and academic environment, but for the world class Kiteboarding on the Outer Banks. I work as a Sales Manager in the government and software industries. One of my philosophies is to work hard not only to provide opportunities for my family, but also so that I can play.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but it was when I was about 12 years old that I decided to know for myself. I read the Book of Mormon and applied Moroni’s Promise to ponder these things, ask with a sincere heart with the promise that the truth would be known. I really wanted to know. I received a burning confirmation in my heart that the Book of Mormon was the word of God and that it was preserved for these days and the fullness of the gospel was restored. I love the teachings of the Book of Mormon as a second witness of Christ with the Bible. The most pure teachings and explanations of our plan on earth and how we should live are contained in the Book of Mormon, complimenting the Bible. Knowing the truth and the origin of these scriptures also provides important testimony of the truthfulness of this church and authorities. Even though I have had many ups and downs, I can NEVER deny the testimony that I received. Having a sure foundation of these things keeps me going, keeps me safe and progressing. I am truly happy.

How I live my faith

I love our Heavenly Father’s plan on earth that he has for us through the Plan of Salvation. Knowing why I am here on earth allows me to enjoy life to the fullest and have purpose. The commandments keep me safe and provide happiness. Having commandments is a blessing. I have a lot to learn and I need to be more Christ like, but the gospel of Jesus Christ, repentance and the atonement helps me progress and be better. I have no doubt that we are being watched over and helped by people that love us from the other side. I also am grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost that comes after true baptism. I know from burning feelings and impressions from the Holy Ghost when something is not right, when I need to be careful and what to avoid. I also know that the influences of the Holy Ghost help me know what is true and good and helps me make good decisions in my life. I know that I am emotional, but it is because of the spirit that wants to follows me, if I let it. It helps me every day. I must keep going. I borrow the moto from President John Taylor, Prophet of God, “ The Kingdom of God or Nothing” I love that!!!!
