Hi I'm Sister Devyn Phillips

I'm from Washington and I'm mormon. I've grown up in the LDS church and I will be serving a LDS Mission in Brazil.

About Me

I am a 19 year old that graduated from high school last year. I haven't started college yet because I am serving an LDS Mission. Something about me is I love to dance, but most of all just love to be outside. That includes hiking, swimming, running and much more. I grew up in a family with all girls and a dad. Some people feel bad for my dad, but I love my family and would never change it. They will be my beautiful family through eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a Mormon in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I would like to share my testimony with you because I feel it is more fit to explain why I continue to follow this church and its gospel. I know for myself of the happiness this gospel brings me. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives and guides us and wants us to return home to live with them someday. I know that through Jesus Christ and his atonement that we can repent and be clean and worthy to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ after this life. We are all sons and daughters of God and are so so very precious to him and he loves and cares for each and everyone of us. I know that through prayer and reading the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon, we can receive answers and become closer to Him. know the Book of Mormon to be true and was translated by a true prophet of God, Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true church and gospel to the earth again through God and Jesus Christ. I know that we also have a living prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson, that leads and guides us. I would also like to say that I know that families and can be together through all eternities. This promise through the true gospel of Jesus Christ is so wonderful to know and I am truly grateful for it. I am grateful for all these true and precious things that I have come to learn through being a member of the Mormon Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) that I know and testify with all my heart that it is true. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

Truthfully, being so young I feel like I haven't done a lot of things through the LDS church. Yes, I have helped begin my LDS seminary class as the president of the class and I have also helped prepare activities for young girls as an activity day assistant leader. But the Most important thing I do to live my faith is to try to be an example to others, serve others, and love others everyday. Also, in a couple of months I will be serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in Brazil. I am so excited to serve the people of Brazil and to serve my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
