Hi I'm Tasha Deacon

I'm an athlete. I love nature. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California. I love spending time outside running in the canyon and mountains near my house or swimming at the beach. My Mom taught me to enjoy art and music from a young age. I played violin and double bass in my high school orchestra and bass guitar in a band. I attended college for a year studying exercise science, but will now be taking a break to serve a mission in Raleigh North Carolina for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up a member of this church and have come to known of its truth. I have felt the Spirit testify to me that Joesph Smith is a prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon. Everyone feels the Spirit differently, but I most often recognize when I am feeling the "fruits of the Spirit" as listed in the New Testament in Galatians 5:22. Those feelings of peace, joy and hope are why I am a Mormon. I am so grateful for teachings of eternal families. I love my family and want to be with them forever. Sometimes I have doubts, but when I pray for comfort and guidance the Lord reminds me that he knows and loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be more Christ like everyday. I am nowhere near perfect, but each day I learn something new. I attend church everyday Sunday. As a youth I led the 12-18 year old girls group. I helped plan activities for the young adults my age through my area. At college I was one of the leaders of a group of 11 other students who would meet every Monday night for "family night" since we were all away from home at school. We continued to grow and strengthen our faith even away from our parents.
