Hi I'm Donna

I am a wife, mother, grandmother. My family is my life's work! I love people, music, fitness, and food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having grown up in a single parent home, I am a strong advocate for traditional families. I take seriously the commitment I made when I married my husband. Our life's work is our family. My hobbies all seem to augment the life of the family we have created. I love to stay fit. I love to prepare nutritional meals. I love to learn. I love music, as a participant and a listener. I love to do all these things most when I am doing them WITH the wonderful people I call mine. I serve on our school's Parent Advisory Committee, I volunteer in the community, and I belong to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. I find fulfillment, joy and utter contentment in all these pursuits. I am happiest when I am in the service of others. My biggest claim to fame when I am dead will be the seven outstanding people I have added to this world. They are responsible, respectable, educated, law-abiding, contributing, philanthropic members of the world community.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) because it is true! It is the full Gospel of Jesus Christ, restored to the earth after a long period of apostasy. It is complete in doctrine and authority. It contains the Priesthood of God, the power to act in the name of God on this earth in performing essential ordinances like baptism and the binding of families together forever. It is the same church that Jesus Christ established when he was on the earth, and it is the way to prepare for His return. Through it I understand His plan. Through it I understand my divine nature as a daughter of God and my place in His plan.Through it I understand my dependence on Jesus Christ for eternal life and salvation. Through it I understand His laws. And through strict adherence to those laws, I find peace and happiness, even in this troubled world.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in my religion, the organization itself and at home every day. I have taught youth, adults, and children, conducted choirs, played piano, lead our women's organization and our girls' youth organization. I regularly visit several women assigned to me to check on them, help them with gospel messages, and see if they have needs that I might help them with. I am available if any of my neighbors need transportation, a helping hand, or a morale boost. At home I pray, study scripture, teach my children doctrine, sing and play hymns, and try to keep the commandments. I regularly evaluate my personal behavior and repent of mistakes and shortcomings. I don't drink alcohol, coffee or tea. I don't smoke. I don't read or watch anything I would not want my children to read or watch. I am completely loyal and faithful to my husband. I search for my ancestors and their stories to help me understand my heritage. I try to live like a daughter of God.
