Hi I'm Savannah

I am a Utahn. I love the mountains. I am learning Chinese. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I am majoring in Finance, but I want to run my own preschool for Deaf and Hearing children. I have played the piano since I was 7 and I love to sing. I like to stay active. Outdoors, sports, water games, taking a walk, you name it, if it is outside I enjoy it. Spending time with my family makes me very happy. I will miss them for the next year and a half while I am serving the Lord in New York, speaking Mandarin Chinese.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the peace and joy it brings to my life. When I was 7 years old my parents decided to receive a divorce. This was very difficult and without the lessons I was taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I would have never been able to be healed from all the heartache that the divorced caused me. The Church gave me a place to learn about the healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Without this knowledge I would have never been able to have the relationship with my family that I do now. Learning that Joseph Smith really saw God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ was such a hopeful and joyous message. It taught me that Christ loves each and every one of us. We have a living prophet today that can tell us how we can live and be happy. I love knowing that I can receive personal revelation from God and receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that what I am being taught is true. Joseph Smith through the power of God was able to translate an ancient record from the America's, where ancient prophets bore witness of Jesus Christ. We have that record today to learn from their experiences. I am so grateful for the love the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches. The temple that are built, bring so much peace. I love this gospel and I know this church is true. It helps me practice faith and become like Jesus Christ. This is why I am a Mormon. I say these these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

Living my faith takes work but it brings so much joy as I do. When I was 15 I was the president of a group of girls between the ages of 14-15. We planned service projects, life skills activities, and grew closer together as a group of friends. I have also been on councils that have required planning conferences for youth. Getting speakers who will provide knowledge about our faith. I have also taught lessons in church. Living my faith is a daily thing. Praying in the mornings and evenings. Reading our holy scriptures to learn for my self if what I am living is true. I try to attend our temples regularly to bring service to others. Living my faith is showing love to others. Serving others by preparing humanitarian kits for people in need, or going to the food band and providing service to them. Also our church has us pay 10% of our income to help the church run all the facilities. They also encourage us to pay monthly donations to help those in need of food or comfort when natural disasters happen, or people who are unemployed and need a helping had. I have avoided watching inappropriate movies and reading inappropriate books.
