Hi I'm Nate Smithson

I'm a musician, a mexican food enthusiast, and (you guessed it) I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a good sized family. I have six little sisters and an older brother. They are a great bunch of people. (I quite like my parents as well) When I was growing up we moved a lot. It seems like every 2 years we were packing up and going somewhere new. I got to meet a lot of great people that way. After a while however we finally settled down in Southern California. When I got there I started swimming and playing water polo for the high school team. Basically, if it means I can be in the water, wether that be a pool or at the beach, I love it. I also took an interest in music when I was pretty young, and I enjoy playing many different instruments, especially my drum set. After I graduated high school I started working for a disaster restoration company. Right now I am just enjoying my time here in Scotland, It's a wonderful place to be.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason that I am a mormon, is because I prayed and asked God if it was true, and he answered my prayer. It is pretty incredible that God cares about us enough to let us know what we need to do to be happy, and as I have followed his counsel I have seen for myself that the things he teaches are true. Why this church and not another one? Because after many years of confusion God showed his love for us by calling a prophet to restore simple truths that had been lost. All churches have a lot of good in them, but this is the only church with the fulness of the gospel. And we are able to have that because God continues to lead and guide us.

How I live my faith

Currently I live my faith every day by teaching people about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is something that I love to do. The gospel has helped me a lot in my short 20 years, and I know that I am not the only person who can benefit from it. That is why I chose to serve a mission for two years, so that I could help other people find the same peace and happiness that I enjoy. Before I came on my mission, I taught Children in sunday school every week.
