Hi I'm Elisabeth

I grew up in three different states in the U.S. Nature is a huge part of my life, and I love my family. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I served a mission for the LDS church in the Four Corners area of the United States. I enjoy the outdoors so much! Hiking and observing nature is my passion and I hope to be an arborist or horticulturist one day.

Why I am a Mormon

There came a time in my life after recovering from depression where I could choose either to live the life I knew, wanted, and where I could be content or the life that God had in store for me if I kept His commandments. His way was scary and would put me on the path to becoming something far greater than I am today with joys beyond my reckoning and that much further to fall if I failed. But I know with all my heart that when I choose His way, keep His commandments and live worthily I am blessed and strengthened. I find peace and the ability to bear my burdens. Some days are harder than others, but I know that if I endure I can stand before Him at the last day and know that I did well.

How I live my faith

I strive to be obedient to the commandments and listen for the promptings of the Spirit. I love to read the Book of Mormon and always feel better when I do. I also enjoy answering questions about my faith and letting my faith shape my personal views in politics, education, and theology.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Elisabeth
No. Just as it says in our true name- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints- we worship Christ and God the Eternal Father. We worship real entities with flesh and bone. We revere Joseph Smith as a prophet of God, a seer and revelator. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Elisabeth
When I am in nature and I think of all the complexity and imagination involved in creating this entirely diverse world, I know that God is there. When I look back at my life and see all the times things went just right to put me in a good place or help me learn more, I know God is there. When I pray throughout the day and thank Him for His never ending mercies and lessons, I feel His presence and know He is there for me. Show more Show less
