Hi I'm JB Engler

I was raised in the high mountains of Utah, bred to hike, born to live, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born to inspiring parents who love the Lord, as the first of six children. I love the beauty of this earth and take joy and opportunity in it. I thrive in the depths of nature--where I feel closest to my Father in Heaven. I grew up in an atmosphere of love, commitment, and strong faith. I was raised to go to Heavenly Father for answers to questions, and guidance, and forgiveness. With the backdrop of the gospel throughout my childhood, I enjoyed all the wonderful adventures of growing up. The son of an English teacher, I grew to love the expression of feeling through words. As I grew through my "tweens", I learned great life lessons; the power in virtue; the principle of forgiveness; the unity of family. I was raised a Boy Scout of America, and learned the values of trust, obedience, hard work, and responsibility. My teenage years were a great determining factor of who I have come to be. I learned where I found joy, and where I found pain. I now have the opportunity to share those lessons learned through the medium of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as I serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am happy. I can experience joy, even in the midst of trial. I am a lover of the truth. I find a sense of purpose as I receive continued answers to life's seemingly unanswered questions. There is peace and joy in the knowledge that my family and I, are family forever. I know what repentance is, how the Atonement of Jesus Christ is activated. I find accountability in the sacred promises--covenants--that I have made with my Father in Heaven. I have trust in His promises. I can experience the miracles of exact obedience. I am a Mormon, because, I have received answers to my prayers that The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and the evidence that Christ's one true church has been restored, just as it has in the past, to this earth by a loving Heavenly Father and through a living prophet.

How I live my faith

Today is the day that I live my faith. I trust in my Heavenly Father and all that He has promised me. I work to show my gratitude for His love, and the ultimate sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ. My day of faith, springs forth out of obedience to His commandments and prayer in the name of His son, and loyalty to the promises that I have made Him. In Him I find strength and solace; peace and prosperity; trust and truth. I live my faith, as I follow Him, just as He invited and taught. I have learned that the way to life eternal is contained in a simple, life changing, five step process: Faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. The Doctrine of our Savior leads us home. I am a representative of Jesus Christ. I serve him day in and day out, as I "teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost". I am eternally grateful for this time of proving, as I learn His will, and how to have the courage to ask and then act.
