Hi I'm Chrissy

I was born and raised in Wyoming, but I grew up in Alaska. I love my family. I love to travel. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read and write. I dream of being on Broadway. I'm passionate about service. I'm unsure what I really want to do for a career, but I want to be a mom. I love to travel and I want to see the world and experience other cultures. I am very loyal and I care a great deal about my family and friends. I love to be outside in the sunshine. I love hiking and camping, but I also love getting dressed up and going out on the town. I'm a small town girl, but I love seeing the sights of cities.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but their conversions were 26 years apart. They are the only living members in their families. I have seen how disobedience to parents, especially our Heavenly Father, can truly impact our lives, and not for the better. I have also seen how keeping the commandments and living true to the name of Christ can help us to become better people. Life isn't perfect, and it never will be. We will always have trials and tribulations, but they help us to become better people. I know that if we constantly look to our Lord and Savior for guidance, he will be there for us. We can always have his spirit with us if we strive our very best to keep the commandments. The commandments are there, not to hinder us, but to help us. I've seen them bless me in my life. I don't have to worry about anything that may or may not have happened the night before, or worry about getting in trouble or wonder what I could have done differently. With the Savior as my guide, I can do all things, and I will have the strength to do these things. He loves each of his children.

How I live my faith

I served a "mini-mission" in my ward to help out the missionaries in our area. I love to work with the missionaries and I love sharing the gospel with my friends and family. I love having home and visiting teachers come by and I love discussing the gospel of our Savior, Jesus Christ. My favorite church activity is Girls Camp. I love attending and I go every chance I get each summer. I enjoy seeing the youth grow closer to our Heavenly Father and strengthening their love and faith in him. I love the primary children and I cannot wait to work with them in the future. They have such innocent and sweet spirits and you can truly feel the love of Christ in them.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Chrissy
Many view abortion as murder, and why not? Life ends when the heart stops, so why not say it begins when the heart starts? Abortion is so personal and often, those who have abortions, later regret it. If you are considering having an abortion, do so thoughtfully and prayerfully. Talk to your minister. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believes that abortion is not right, but in rare cases, it is not wrong. If the life of the mother or baby is at stake, or if the pregancy was caused by rape, then talk to your doctor and also your religious leader and see what they say. Pray about it. By giving birth to this child, they will have the opportunity to have a body and have incredible life experiences. If you are not ready to be a parent, adoption is a wonderful gift. You can help someone else who is unable to have children. Giving birth is selfless. Think about our Savior. What would he counsel? It is important to talk to the Lord and learn what he would have you do. Don't be ashamed to look for help. Show more Show less
