Hi I'm Melanie

I love my cat, Gilbert. I live for Swedish Fish and enjoy reading Harry Potter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm a 23 year old recent college graduate! I studied Exercise Science at Brigham Young University and hope to go to pharmacy school one day. I'm passionate about learning about the human body and loved the experiences I had at BYU to study cadavers and learn so much, which strengthened my testimony of the Creation more than I ever thought it could! There are so many intricate details in the human body that there is no way that we could have been created other than by God himself. I am the oldest of 3 kids and have lived my whole life in Utah. I was a cheerleader in Jr. High and High School and am a huge sports fan! I love attending sporting events, especially basketball and football! Of course I am partial to my BYU COUGARS. I love to read the Harry Potter series and to play the piano. I am currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Charlotte, North Carolina. My brother is currently serving in the Argentina Buenos Aires North Mission. I love being able to serve at the same time as him. I have the greatest family and wouldn't trade them for anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel, and I have always known that it is true. I have a huge testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that he atoned for our ALL of our sins and that through him we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again someday. When I was 20 years old I lost one of my best friends in a tragic accident and through that experience my testimony of God's love was strengthened so much. I know that He has a plan for each one of us and He wants us to be happy. We were sent to this earth to learn and to grow and be tested. I know that if we turn to Him in our times of need that He will bless us more than we could ever imagine. I look forward to the day when I can see my friend again and I know that it will happen. I know that God is a loving, merciful God and that He is patient with us. His arms are always outstretched towards us welcoming us in. This gospel has offered me so much peace and hope in this life; I don't know what I would do without it. Most importantly, I have come to know these things through my reading of the Book of Mormon. It has truly testified to me that Jesus is the Christ and is the ONLY way that we can receive Eternal Life. I have received a personal witness that the Book of Mormon is true, which is central to the reason that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to mostly live my faith by my example. I try to dress modestly, avoid inappropriate media, and to follow the commandments. I attend my church meetings every sunday and try to stay involved in other activities put on. I have served in many callings especially in my singles wards. Many of those have included working and serving with the other young women in my ward to plan lessons, teach, and visit other sisters who are struggling as well as plan events for all of the sisters in the ward. I have also been the ward pianist and on the music committee as well as taught young children. I currently have the opportunity to represent the Church everyday as I help invite others to come unto Christ through my missionary service.
