Hi I'm Jessie Suckow

I'm from South Jordan, Utah! I'm a full-time missionary in Philadelphia, PA, and I'm a mormon! :)

About Me

I was adopted when I was nine years old by my aunt and uncle. There are 10 kids in my family, so I'm used to being in big groups. I love singing with all my heart and I enjoy playing the piano. I love the Lord with everything I have. I'm friendly and kind and I love people! I'm a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormons). I love this gospel with everything I have and I would love to share it with anyone!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Lord. I grew up in this church and for a long time, I just stuck with it because it was what my parents expected of me. As I grew up, I learned about God's love for me and that he wants all of us to be happy. I read the Book of Mormon by myself the first time when I was 15 years old. There is no other book in the world that can bring more comfort and straight up truth than the Book of Mormon. I love that book! Because of reading the Book of Mormon, not only did I learn about Christ, I learned about myself and God's plan for me. I love this gospel and I want to share it! That's why I chose to serve a mission. This gospel brings such joy into my life that I'll NEVER abandon it.

How I live my faith

I'm a missionary! I share the gospel 24/7. Even though I won't be a full-time missionary forever, I will always share the gospel with anyone who wants to know the truth. :) Before my mission, I taught primary:) First I taught nine-year-olds and then at the beginning of this year (2013) I taught five year olds. I love the children of this church! They are huge examples to me of humility and patience and forgiveness. If I got to choose my position in the church for the rest of my life, I would be serving the children!

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Jessie Suckow
Faith in Jesus Christ can influence our relationships in so many ways! Once you have a firm belief that everyone is a child of God, you will begin to teach others as such. I am a daughter of God, and I know that everyone around me is a child of God as well. Successful relationships require faith that no matter what happens, things will work out for the better. Christ helps with that because He wants all of us to be happy, and no matter what, He'll be there to help us get through the hard times. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Jessie Suckow
Pray. That's the simplest way of gaining a relationship with Him. When a college student leaves home, their parents want to hear how they're doing. It's the same concept with our Heavenly Father. We left home to come to earth, and our Heavenly Father wants to hear from us. He loves us and He can help us no matter what. The easiest way to gain a strong relationship with our Father is to pray to Him and keep His commandments. :) Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Jessie Suckow
There are so many things that are evidence of the existance of a God. A couple of years ago, my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I remember the very first time I held my brand new niece, and the miracle that she was became a learning experience for me. She was precious, and she didn't come from thin air. This beautiful baby girl was a gift from God, and whoever has had a baby or has held a brand new baby knows this. How can something so precious and perfect come out of nowhere? Another thing that sticks out is the beauty of nature. Everything is beautiful in its own way. For example, flowers are one of the most beautiful things out there. They are so intricate and amazing that thinking that they are just there is so depressing! God created this world! These amazing and marvelous things don't come by chance. They were created for the sake of us remembering our Heavenly Father. He didn't want us to come somewhere that was barren and blank. The world he created, every little piece! The flowers, the trees, the spiders, all of it! And He did it because He loves us! Show more Show less
