Hi I'm Becky

I am a Wife and a Mother, I live in Shrewsbury and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home Mum to a beautiful baby girl, I stopped full time work just before she was born and enjoying a whole challenge of learning to be a parent along with my Husband. We have just finished decorating our house and I am starting some planting in the garden as I would like to grow some of our own vegetables this year. I love a bargain and buy most of my clothes from charity shops and jumble sales, you will always spot me in the reduced items section at the supermarket!

Why I am a Mormon

I started going to church with my Mum and Brother when I was about 6 years old, as a teenager I made the decision for myself to keep attending church and that this was the right church to attend. I could not imagine life without the peace that comes through knowing my Heavenly Father and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend church each Sunday and teach a class of very active 8 - 11 year olds, along with my husband. I love getting together with other Mum's at our regular 'Hot Chocolate' mornings.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Becky
In the church we feel that our family is the most important thing, especially as we believe that we can continue as a family unit after we die as well. When my Grandma died a few months ago I found peace in knowing that although I miss her now, I will one day see her again. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Becky
As the proper name of the Church suggests (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) we very much believe in Jesus Christ, that he is the son of God, and he made it possible for us to overcome our weaknesses and mistakes. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Becky
We believe that because Jesus paid the price for our sins in The Garden of Gethsemane and died for us on the cross, we can be forgiven of our sins and one day be resurrected as he was on Easter morning. However we also believe that we are free to make our own choices, and therefore responsible for the consequences. So although we can be forgiven of our sins through Jesus Christ we must be sincerely repentant, and be trying to live our life in a way that follows his example and teachings. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Becky
We believe in the Bible, that it is the teachings of God's prophets who lived in the Holy land -The Old Testament. And also the teachings of Jesus Christ and his Apostles, during and just after his earthly ministry - The New Testament. The difference between 'Mormons' and 'other' Christian churches is that we also believe that God spoke through Prophets in other lands as well, and have the Book of Mormon which is the writings of prophets who lived on the American continent.
