Hi I'm Elder Joshua Keller

I am from Missouri. I am on a mission. I'm going to Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While living in Missouri, I've learned to love the outdoors. My dad and I have enjoyed hunting and fishing on the land that we own. I like playing music and singing while driving, but only when it's just me. I am serving a mission and will attend college when I return. I am the youngest in a family of eleven children. I had a sister pass away as a child and the gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to know that I will be able to live with my family for eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Mormon church, but the sure knowledge that I have today of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ did not come until I read and prayed about The Book of Mormon for myself. Until that time, I had always felt the peace and comfort of the Spirit testifying to me that others knew it to be true, but I needed to know for myself if it was right. I read the book, prayed to know if it was true, and listened to the feelings that I was given. I felt that same comfort and peace, but it was a little more comforting and peaceful than before. I know that The Book of Mormon is true and because it is, Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and through Joseph Smith, the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in these latter days. Later on when I was facing a difficult time in my life, I prayed to God in the name of Jesus Christ to know if Heavenly Father still loved me. The Spirit testified to me so strongly. That experience has strengthened my knowledge of God's love for all of His children and makes me want to help others know of His love for them too. I know God loves us, that Jesus is the Christ, that He lives, and that by obeying the commandments we can live with our families for eternity.

How I live my faith

I recently received my Eagle Scout award in Boy Scouts, so community service is a pretty important to me. After I was out of the Scouting program, I was called back into it to assist in the Cub Scouts. Also, when I was in high school, we had community music programs that I would play my bass clarinet solos at. It always amazed me to see the faces of the people who heard the music because I was just doing what I love to do and by doing that, they were able to feel the joy that playing music brings to me.
