Hi I'm Mitchell

I grew up in Utah. I love to sing, have fun, and enjoy life. I study computer science and chemistry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing. I was in choir in high school and highly enjoyed it. I go to college, studying computer science and chemistry (until I take a two-year break to serve a mission in Italy). I work at a chemistry lab. During my spare time, I enjoy listening to music or spending time with friends. I love to find humor in life, because it makes life more fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that was active in the church. We attended our meetings weekly and participated regularly. As a young child, I would go each week because my parents went, but as I grew a little older, I came to enjoy it more and love to go to church each week. The members of my ward are very friendly and helpful to those in need. I have come to know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Everything just makes sense. When I hear someone else share truth, I can feel that it is right. This knowledge has helped me to decide how to better live my life to become a better person than I would have been otherwise. I have been greatly blessed from being a member of the church, and I know that I will continue to be, as I live faithfully to what I know to be true.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly and go to church-related activities. I help my neighbors when they are in need. I will be serving a two-year full-time mission in Italy.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Mitchell
Jesus Christ taught the necessity of baptism for salvation (see John 3:5). Many people lived and died without having the opportunity to be baptized by one holding the proper authority, and many more without the opportunity of being baptized at all. If it is necessary for salvation for to be baptized, then there must be a way for those who did not have the chance while in this life. God provided a way for those individuals to be baptized in proxy by those who are still living. It is for this reason that Church members perform proxy baptisms in the temple. They do it out of love and duty for their ancestors. The individuals can choose to accept or decline what has been done for them. Show more Show less
