Hi I'm Benjamin Eggli

I grew up in Garland, Utah. I love music, dancing, helping others, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my friends and family. Whether we do something that I like or something that I don't like very much, I can always have a good time because I get to be with them. I really love music. Ever since I was young I have always loved it. I have taken band since 6th Grade, and have learned to play French Horn, Trombone, Trumpet and Mellophone. I also really love to sing. When I go to college I plan on studying music. I am not sure what my focus will be quite yet, but I am sure I'll get that figured out eventually! I love to dance as well. I only took one class in High School, but just instantly fell in love with it. I plan to continue taking classes when I start my studies, just for fun. I am currently serving as a Full-Time Missionary in the Germany Berlin Mission. I obviously have to learn German, and lots of other skills that I did not have before, which is hard, but really pays off in the long run. Having a family is something that I have always wanted, so when I return and start studying I will find myself a wonderful wife, get married, and start a family!

Why I am a Mormon

The teachings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have really helped me to strengthen my relationship with God, become a better person, and really enjoy life. The things I learn as a Mormon just really help me set a solid foundation of the person I want to become. It really focuses on reaching out and helping others, and that is one of my favorite parts of the Gospel. I myself always need help and am so thankful when I receive it. And being in a Mormon community, I have always received help when I needed it and have felt loved and appreciated. Which helps me strive to help others and give them that same joy that I get from receiving it. We are all brothers and sisters and we should always be striving to help and love one another. Being in this church has helped me realize that and know how I can best help others. The things I learn really do help me to be better and become a better person. And having a Prophet and 12 Apostles at the head of our church is really a comfort. It helps me to know that God loves all His children, not just His children in the past, but today as well. He has always lead His church through Prophets, so it makes sense that He would do that today. We have new problems in the world that they did not have back then. So having a prophet today really helps me to know how to handle these new problems and how to stay true to the faith. I am so thankful for that. I have also prayed and asked God personally to know if this church is true. He truly has given me an answer and I know that this church is true. I know that God lives and that His Son, Jesus Christ, really did come down to earth to save us all. I know that the power of the Atonement is real, and has helped me so much in life. I know that Joseph Smith was called as a prophet of God, and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. The spiritual confirmations I have received for these things are powerful, and I cannot deny it. I love to be a Mormon and live the things we teach!

How I live my faith

Well, it is quite simple. As I study the scriptures, go to church, and pray to God, I really try to live the things that I learn. These three things are what help us come back to God and learn how to be more like Him. Christ was always the perfect example. He showed us the way, and all we have to do is accept His invitation, ''Come, follow me.'' Reading in the scriptures has always been a strength for me. There are so many life lessons we can learn by studying them. They show us how people lived in the past, and how they developed their relationship with God and Jesus Christ. They are powerful examples and really help give me direction. I can see how they followed Christ's example, or read about how Christ lived himself and then ask myself, ''What can I do to become more like Him?'' I read and search daily so I can continue to find things that can help me be a better person, and follow God's will. So whether it be the Book of Mormon, Bible, or teachings of our Modern Day Prophets, I always get so much out of it and receive guidance in my life. As I learn these things, and learn how I can improve myself, that is when I turn to God to ask for His divine help. And having that daily communication with my Father in Heaven really gives me strength and the ability to do these things. Alone, I am not very strong. But with God, He helps me to be strong and accomplish my righteous goals. And when I mess up or get frustrated with myself, He is always there to comfort me and remind me that He loves me. Going to church weekly helps me to get a ''Spiritual Reboot.'' After a long, hard week it is always nice to come together with my friends and family to worship God and learn from one another. Family and friends are such a huge support for me, and when we all gather together to help build each others faith, it really does help. And being with them helps me have more great examples to follow. So simply said, the combination of these three things is what helps me live my faith.
