Hi I'm Becca

I grew up in Utah. My family is my favorite thing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived my entire life in Utah and have absolutely loved it. I am the youngest of five children with wonderful parents and an aunt to eight of the cutest kids you ever did see. I love my family and spend as much time as possible with them. I'm a student at a university studying Communication Disorders. I love so many things: good books, meteor showers, long talks, hiking, cotton candy, summer picnics, laughing, Christmas lights... and the list could go on forever...

Why I am a Mormon

Like many people in my community, I was raised in a Mormon family. I was taught the gospel by my parents and grew up going to church every Sunday. For a long time I was a Mormon because that was what I was born into. It wasn't until I was 14 that I thought about my own faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was at an activity for the youth in my area, listening to my peers express their knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel that I started to ask myself if I felt the same as they did. My answer didn't come immediately; it took time. But my answer did come. Through scripture study and sincere prayer I came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church restored to the earth and that I wanted to be a Mormon, not only because I had grown up in the gospel and it had become a part of me, but also because I had my own knowledge of it. Since then I have had countless confirmations that this is the true church. I know that the Savior of this world, Jesus Christ lives. I know that He loves us. He loves us enough that He died so our sins could be forgiven. I know that God is universal as well as personal. That even though He is the creator of all things He cares about every person individually. We are His children. I know that He listens to our prayers and that He does answer them. I know this gospel was restored to the earth by the prophet Joseph Smith. That through the power of God he was able to translate the Book of Mormon, which is the word of God. I am grateful every day to have the gospel in my life. It brings light, peace, and joy to my soul.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by serving a full-time mission for the church. This means that I will be leaving my schooling, family, and friends for 18 months to go preach the gospel to the people in Brazil. My mission is one way that I am able to show the Lord my love for Him. As a missionary I am sacrificing my time to serve the Lord, but I couldn't be more grateful for this time that I have to give everything that I can to Him. He has given me everything good in my life and I can't think of a better way to show my love and gratitude for Him than by serving a mission.
