Hi I'm Carrie

I'm a Colorado Native, an Interior Designer, and a doting mother and wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have belonged to the church my entire life. While I have had my trials and struggles and even a brief period away from the church, I have never doubted my beliefs. Now, even though my wonderful husband is not LDS, I am raising my two children in the church. I have a son with Autism and we adopted our daughter through foster care a couple of years ago. They are everything I ever dreamed of in a family. I have degrees in Fine Arts and Residential Planning. I am currently running a business part time as an interior decorator and color consultant from my home, and hanging out with my awesome family.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church really tests your faith. There are so many activities that are fairly common among teenagers that are not acceptable by church standards in an effort to live a clean life. Also, as you go along in life, you run into many people that have preconceived notions of what we as a religion do or believe. You also run into many people that feel it is up to them to show you reasons they feel you are wrong or try to get you to question your faith. Through all of these experiences, you are faced with really figuring out what you believe. For me, each of these experiences (even the very negative ones) have only led me to confirm my beliefs. Even during my time away from the church I never questioned its truth. I'm a Mormon because it's what speaks to me. It's what I have prayed and pondered about, and what I have felt a confirmation toward. The leaders of the church are there, without pay, and give of themselves wholly for the purpose of serving the Lord and serving their fellow men. The goodness and examples of these leaders show me the kind of person I want to be. I'm a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior. He is what makes our return to our Heavenly Father possible, and what makes it possible to be with my family forever. This church is based entirely around worshiping Him and our Father in Heaven. We are about serving Him and serving Him through our serving others.

How I live my faith

I am blessed to get to teach the kids that are seven and turning eight this year. They are such a great, fun age and I love each of these kiddos! Teaching them to recognize their own beliefs helps confirm my own. I have spent a lot of time volunteering for various nonprofits, because I have a firm belief in the importance of helping those around me.
