Hi I'm Benjamin

I'm from San Diego. I love my wife, family time, making my kids laugh, and fun in the sun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Orange County, California and served an LDS mission in the Philippines and speak fluent Tagalog. Upon returning from the Philippines, I earned a business degree from the Marriott School of Management at BYU. My wife and I met at BYU and moved to San Diego right after we were married. We have 5 children now, our youngest two are twin boys. I work as a Mortgage and Real Estate Broker but my passion is my family. When I'm not wrestling with my kids, I'm running or on my road bike enjoying the beauties of San Diego. I also love going to the beach to surf and play.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family and I was raised to find out for myself the truth of this Church. I had sweet experiences as a young boy with getting answers to my prayers, feeling the Holy Ghost guide and comfort me, and learning to choose right from wrong and feeling the peace and joy that comes from righteous living. I found out early in my life that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only true source of happiness. Jesus Christ provided the way for us to return to Him through His sacrifice. He taught us how to live to be happy. I decided at an early age to be a missionary so I could share this message of happiness to others. My mission to the Philippines helped solidify the strong feelings I already had for the gospel. I saw people open their hearts to our gospel message, read the Book of Mormon, and receive answers to their prayers regarding the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and this Church. Their lives improved and my faith grew. They grew to understand that Jesus Christ has restored His true Church. He restored His Church through a prophet, Joseph Smith. He, like all other prophets in the Bible, was chosen by God to do God's work. I know it's true because I have asked God and He has answered my prayers. My passion for sharing this message of happiness continues. I now focus on teaching my children this great plan of happiness and the importance of our temples. We love each other more deeply and strive to be closer because we know our family will be together forever because of the blessings that are available in our temples. My greatest joy comes from my family and knowing that we will never be separated as we follow God's plan and His gospel.

How I live my faith

I enjoy coaching my kids' sports teams and making a difference where I can. I taught early morning seminary to high school seniors for 5 years and hope to resume teaching in the future. I have a deep passion for studying and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, especially to young people. I also enjoy visiting with members of my church and helping them when needs arise. Being a member of this Church provides innumerable opportunities to serve, learn, and grow closer to my Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. The most important role my faith plays is within the walls of my own home. My wife and l love teaching our children about Heavenly Father's plan for us and feeling His love in our family. I love living my faith!

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Benjamin
Family is important to Mormons because family is important to our Father in Heaven. We are His literal children and He wants His family, all of us, to be happy. Adam and Eve were the first parents placed on this earth and it was clear that God wanted to help them and provide them a path to happiness even though their life outside the Garden of Eden was going to be difficult. They were commanded to multiply and replenish the earth. Adam and Eve were taught that their family would provide the best setting to learn love, charity, mercy, forgiveness, and most importantly, happiness. They understood that even though they would sin and fall short of God's perfection, Jesus Christ would provide a way for them to be cleansed of their mistakes and forgiven. We have the same promised blessings as Adam and Eve. We are told to have families so that our Father in Heaven's children can come to this earth and gain a body and have this mortal experience. Together we will grow closer to our Father in Heaven as we follow His plan of happiness found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The crowning blessing of the gospel of Jesus Christ is the ability for families to be sealed together forever, in one of our temples. Knowing your family is sealed for eternity helps you work harder at keeping love and harmony in your family. Family requires sacrifice but, like all good things, the best blessings require the greatest sacrifice. Show more Show less
